Filter by:The aim of the study is to test a brief, peer-led group-based oral health educational intervention - called the "Oral Health Recovery Group" - designed for individuals with psychiatric disabilities.
The goal of this study is to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of the current proposal and different decision-making scenarios of periodontal care coverage increases for patients with T2DM in Chile. The main objective of the clinical section of this study (effectiveness) aims to determine the effectiveness of periodontal care in patients with T2DM under follow-up in the Cardiovascular Health Program (Programa de Salud Cardiovascular, PSCV) of the in the CEMO Villa Sur of Pedro Aguirre Cerda and the CESFAM Antonio Varas of Puerto Montt. A highly matched control group is proposed using Propensity Score Matching of PSCV patients with T2DM who have not received periodontal care. This would allow a better comparison of the individuals who will actually be treated against a counterfactual against of those with similar characteristics who did not receive periodontal intervention during the follow-up period of this first stage.
Since plaque control forms the basis for caries prevention, the type of toothpaste and its constituents becomes more important. Toothpaste containing fluoride are widely popular and fluorides have been historically reported to have effects against dental caries. However, the fluoride safe doses are still discussed ,because fluoride has toxicity and causing fluorosis. The first goal of this study is to compare the efficacy and safety between anxiolysis by multimedia-distraction with an IPAD versus anxiolysis by premedication with midazolam prior to the induction. The objective of the study is to evaluate the efficiency of emergency procedures and patient satisfaction within the GHPS (Groupe Hospitalier Pitié Salpêtrière) Dental Emergency Department. Pain is the main reason of consultation at dental emergency. The investigators evaluate the pain felt before and after the intervention of the emergency with questionnaires at the day of the consultation (D0), then with phone interviews at D1, D3 and D7. The investigators also evaluate the quality of the reception and care provided in the GHPS service using a satisfaction questionnaire completed by the patients at D0.
