NCT ID: NCT06296472 Recruiting - De Quervain Disease Clinical Trials

De Quervain's Disease in the Acute Phase:a Study Aimed at Evaluating the Effectiveness of Standard Physiotherapy Treatment (HANDGUIDE), Compared to Experimental Treatment After Performing Ultrasound-guided Infiltrative Therapy.

Start date: February 27, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of the study is to compare pain reduction and disability reduction in two groups of patients diagnosed with de Quervain syndrome who will undergo ultrasound-guided infiltrative treatment with corticosteroid as per normal clinical practice: - the control group will subsequently be subjected to a standard treatment based on the European guidelines of the HANDGUIDE group, - the experimental group will subsequently carry out a program of eccentric exercises.

NCT ID: NCT06147869 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for de Quervain Tenosynovitis

Phonophoresis Versus Low-Level Laser on Dequervain

Start date: December 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

De Quervain's tenosynovitis is a frequently encountered pain of the hand and wrist. It results from compression and irritation of the extensor pollicis brevis and abductor pollicis longs tendons as they pass through the first dorsal compartment of the wrist. Patients complain of tenderness and swelling proximal to the radial styloid process, as well as pain in the wrist and on the radial side of the hand. Owing to persistent pain and inflammation, the pinch and grasp strength of the hand is considerably compromised, coupled with tenderness over the anatomical snuff box. Although the condition occurs in both females and males, it is significantly more common in women, especially during pregnancy and postpartum. This condition can be caused by micro traumas that occur in the course of repetitive mechanical activities and systemic diseases of the connective tissue. The symptom of de Quervain syndrome is pain in the forearm at the height of the radial styloid process. The pain intensifies during the extension of the thumb. Other symptoms include redness and swelling in the region. Physiotherapeutic treatment is an important element of conservative treatment of de Quervain syndrome .

Impact of Gel Aromatherapy on Pain for Patients With De Quervain Disease

Helping Hand
Start date: January 1, 2024
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

De Quervain disease is characterized by an adductor pollicis longus and extensor pollicis brevis tendons inflammation as thys pass beneath the extensor retinaculum at the radial styloid. This pathology is recognized as a musculoskeletal disorder of the upper limb triggering functional deficits resulting to possible modifications in the professional activity, sources of absenteeism, thus constituting an economic cost for society. At the etiological level, this pathology also affects young mothers (it's called "mother's wrist" or mommy thumb"), mobile phone users ("textonite", "Blackberryte") or video game players ("Nintendoite"). Currently, the treatment is mainly conservative by splint and anti-inflammatory gel and/or corticosteroid infiltration. Howewer, these therapies have undesirable effects. The interest of this study is therefore to propose another therapy based on aromatherapy gel.

Efficacy of Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy on Ultrasonographic Changes in de Quervain Tenosynovitis

Start date: April 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The current study will be conducted to explore the efficacy of ESWT on ultrasonographic changes, pain intensity level, upper limb function and hand grip strength in patients with de Quervain tenosynovitis.

Correlation Between EPB Entrapment Test and Ultrasound Wrist Findings in Patients With deQuervain's Disease

Start date: November 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The goal of this observational study is to learn about the correlation between EPB entrapment test and ultrasound wrist findings in patients with deQuervain's disease The main questions it aims to answer are: - if correlation exist between EPB entrapment test and ultrasound wrist findings in patients with deQuervain's disease ? - if the the correlation aid in deciding management of patients with deQuervain's disease Participants will be subjected to - EPB entrapment test - ultrasound examination of wrist

NCT ID: NCT05597930 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

New 3D Printed Wrist Orthosis

Start date: May 2, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In order to offer a new product improving the healing and/or rehabilitation of injuries or injuries to the wrist and hand, Médicus is seeking to develop a new orthosis for the wrist and hand by 3D printing. This project will focus on the development of an orthosis related to carpal tunnel syndrome as well as droopy hand. Among the issues to be addressed in this development proposal, the investigators find: 1) Identification of the best methodology for taking digital impressions; design of an orthosis with the following characteristics: (i) no external attachment system, (ii) spiral design with a thumb ring, (iii) manufacturing by 3D printing and (iv) a cost of less than $150 ;3) Performing technical and clinical trials.
