Comparative Study of Intestinal Color Ultrasound and Capsule Endoscopy in Monitoring Crohn's Disease

The disease activity index under intestinal color ultrasound was evaluated by SUS-CD, and the disease activity index under capsule endoscopy was evaluated by CECDAI. All subjects underwent intestinal color ultrasound and capsule endoscopy at baseline and at the third month of treatment. To compare the correlation between SUS-CD and CECDAI before and after treatment, and to compare the role of intestinal color ultrasound and capsule endoscopy in monitoring Crohn's disease in small intestine.

Addressing Disability Effectively With Psychosocial Telemedicine

This multi-site study will be implemented at 5 gastroenterology practices to recruit 420 adults with IBD to complete a baseline survey and enroll those with higher scores on a validated IBD-disability scale into a randomized controlled trial of telehealth-delivered cognitive behavioral therapy with a licensed psychologist versus usual care. The investigators aim to lay the foundations that will shift the paradigm of IBD clinical practice towards a new horizon of holistic and equitable high-value care.

The intervention diet: DAIN has been adapted from the Inflammatory Bowel Disease Anti-Inflammatory Diet or IBD-AIDâ„¢ taking into account the food availability and preferences of Puerto Ricans. DAIN also includes traditional foods commonly consumed in the typical Puerto Rican diet while maintaining the fundamental components of the IBD-AIDâ„¢.

The goal of this pilot study is to test whether Fecal Microbiota Transplant (FMT) would be an effective antibacterial treatment for managing Adherent-invasive Escherichia coli (AIEC) colonization in Crohn's disease (CD) patients. It aims to assess the safety of FMT in patients with clinically inactive or mild to moderate CD and to determine the presence of AIEC before and after FMT. Participants will receive FMT via colonoscopy and have a follow-up colonoscopy at the end of the study.

This study aims to evaluate a novel diet for adult Crohn's disease patients (The Crohn's Disease Exclusion Diet - CDED). Some of the patients in this study will receive the CDED combined with partial enteral nutrition (PEN), the other group will receive PEN along with the usual nutritional care and the third group will follow the CDED with early introduction of dairy products, that were eliminated from the initial CDED protocol.
