There are about 4 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Tajikistan. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
Central Asia (CA) represents the most rapidly growing HIV epidemic region worldwide, concentrated in people who inject drugs (PWID) and their sexual partners, and scaling up opioid agonist therapies (OAT) in this region is the most cost-effective strategy to prevent new HIV infections, and more effective when combined with antiretroviral therapy (ART). The investigators propose to use the Network for the Improvement of Addiction Treatment (NIATx) implementation strategy to scale-up OAT in three diverse Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan) and guided by the Exploration-Planning-Implementation-Sustainment (EPIS) framework. Understanding the trajectories of implementation and scale-up in this context may emerge through creating communities of practice, especially when cohesion and competence evolves, and may guide other healthcare delivery challenges in the region (e.g., HIV, TB); as well as build important regional expertise and understanding implementation trajectories should help support OAT program sustainability.
This study examines: 1) short-term and longitudinal impacts of stepped care on women with depression and the possible roles of mediators and moderators; 2) clinic- (readiness to adopt an innovation, leadership support and climate) and provider-level (preparedness, motivation and fidelity) factors that may affect stepped care implementation; and 3) the differential impact of two implementation approaches (a clinic implementation teams versus implementation training by the research team). It utilizes Curran's hybrid effectiveness implementation design, mixed methods, and a longitudinal design with assessments at pre, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months. A total of 18 primary care clinics, set in both rural and urban communities in Tajikistan, will be involved, with 12 delivering the intervention and 6 acting as controls. 8 providers (3 nurses, 3 peers, and 2 doctors) will be recruited at each of the 12 intervention clinics for a total of 96 providers; 35 women with depression will be recruited from each clinic for a total of 630 women.
This is an expanded access program (EAP) for patient with Melanoma and Glioblastoma who have progressed after prior Protocol therapy including Bevacizumab, Temozolomide ( TMZ ), Ipilimumab, BRAF and MEK inhibitors. The patients whose tumors are EGFR, MET or ALK positive should first receive an EFGR or ALK inhibitor, respectively, prior to treatment with pembrolizumab.
This randomised controlled trial will establish the effect a contraceptive intervention delivered by mobile phone app instant messaging on the acceptability of effective contraception in Tajikistan. Woman and men aged 16-24 will be randomised to have access to the Tajik Family Planning Alliance's sexual and reproductive health app (control) or the app plus 0-3 instant messages a day for 4 months (intervention). Participants will complete a questionnaire at baseline and 4 months.
