NCT ID: NCT03774108 Active, not recruiting - PreDiabetes Clinical Trials

Metformin and Systemic Inflammation in HIV

Metfo
Start date: December 15, 2018
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purposes of this study are to find out if: metformin can be combined with anti-HIV drugs to reduce systemic inflammation measured by the determination of cytokines and other series of serum markers. To determine if the concomitant administration of metformin with TARA improves the immune function on the CD4 T cell count and its relation with the CD8 T cells, during the treatment and after its interruption. To this end, in the present study, patients with prediabetes (who meet the fasting impaired glucose criteria) will be identified and treated with metformin or placebo for 8 weeks, receiving stable TARA and with a CD4 + level> 200 cells / μL. 40 patients from the HIV Unit of the Civil Hospital of Guadalajara "Fray Antonio Alcalde" will be included in this study and the intervention will last 8 weeks.

NCT ID: NCT03759379 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Transthyretin Amyloidosis

HELIOS-A: A Study of Vutrisiran (ALN-TTRSC02) in Patients With Hereditary Transthyretin Amyloidosis (hATTR Amyloidosis)

Start date: February 14, 2019
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of vutrisiran (ALN-TTRSC02) in participants with hereditary transthyretin amyloidosis (hATTR amyloidosis). Participants will receive vutrisiran subcutaneous (SC) injection once every 3 months (q3M) or the reference comparator patisiran intravenous (IV) injection once every 3 weeks (q3w) during the 18 month Treatment Period. This study will use the placebo arm of the APOLLO study (NCT01960348) as an external comparator for the primary and most other efficacy endpoints during the 18 Month Treatment Period. Following the 18 Month Treatment Period, all participants will be randomized to receive vutrisiran SC injection once every 6 months (q6M) or q3M in the Randomized Treatment Extension (RTE) Period.

NCT ID: NCT03755791 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Study of Cabozantinib in Combination With Atezolizumab Versus Sorafenib in Subjects With Advanced HCC Who Have Not Received Previous Systemic Anticancer Therapy

COSMIC-312
Start date: June 10, 2018
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This Phase 3 study evaluates the safety and efficacy of cabozantinib in combination with atezolizumab versus the standard of care sorafenib in adults with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) who have not received previous systemic anticancer therapy. A single-agent cabozantinib arm will be enrolled in which subjects receive single agent cabozantinib in order to determine its contribution to the overall safety and efficacy of the combination with atezolizumab.

NCT ID: NCT03748641 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Castration-Resistant Prostatic Cancer

A Study of Niraparib in Combination With Abiraterone Acetate and Prednisone Versus Abiraterone Acetate and Prednisone for Treatment of Participants With Metastatic Prostate Cancer

MAGNITUDE
Start date: January 25, 2019
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of niraparib in combination with abiraterone acetate plus prednisone (AAP) compared to AAP and placebo.

NCT ID: NCT03735121 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

A Study to Investigate Atezolizumab Subcutaneous in Patients With Previously Treated Locally Advanced or Metastatic Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Start date: December 14, 2018
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This study will evaluate the pharmacokinetics, safety, and efficacy of atezolizumab subcutaneous (SC) compared with atezolizumab intravenous (IV) in participants with locally advanced or metastatic Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) who have not been exposed to cancer immunotherapy (CIT) and for whom prior platinum-based therapy has failed. The study is comprised of two parts, as follows: A dose-finding part (Part 1, Phase Ib) will aim to identify the dose of atezolizumab SC to be tested in Part 2. A dose-confirmation part (Part 2, Phase III, randomized) will aim to confirm that the dose moved forward from Part 1 yields drug exposure that is comparable to that of atezolizumab IV.

NCT ID: NCT03713593 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Carcinoma, Hepatocellular

Safety and Efficacy of Lenvatinib (E7080/MK-7902) in Combination With Pembrolizumab (MK-3475) Versus Lenvatinib as First-line Therapy in Participants With Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma (MK-7902-002/E7080-G000-311/LEAP-002)

Start date: December 31, 2018
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of lenvatinib (E7080/MK-7902) in combination with pembrolizumab (MK-3745) versus lenvatinib in combination with placebo as first-line therapy for the treatment of advanced hepatocellular carcinoma in adult participants. The primary hypotheses of this study are that lenvatinib plus pembrolizumab is superior to lenvatinib plus placebo with respect to progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS).
