NCT ID: NCT04164082 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Stage 0a Bladder Cancer AJCC v8

Testing the Addition of an Anti-cancer Drug, Pembrolizumab, to the Usual Intravesical Chemotherapy Treatment (Gemcitabine) for the Treatment of BCG-Unresponsive Non-muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer

Start date: March 18, 2020
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This phase II trial studies the effect of adding pembrolizumab to gemcitabine in treating patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer whose cancer does not respond to Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) treatment. Chemotherapy drugs, such as gemcitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the patient's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Adding pembrolizumab to gemcitabine may delay the return of BCG-unresponsive bladder cancer for longer period compared to gemcitabine alone.

NCT ID: NCT04137107 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Stage III Colorectal Cancer AJCC v8

Duloxetine to Prevent Oxaliplatin-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy in Patients With Stage II-III Colorectal Cancer

Start date: June 17, 2020
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This phase II/III trial studies the best dose of duloxetine and how well it works in preventing pain, tingling, and numbness (peripheral neuropathy) caused by treatment with oxaliplatin in patients with stage II-III colorectal cancer. Duloxetine increases the amount of certain chemicals in the brain that help relieve depression and pain. Giving duloxetine in patients undergoing treatment with oxaliplatin for colorectal cancer may help prevent peripheral neuropathy.

NCT ID: NCT04092283 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Stage III Lung Cancer AJCC v8

Testing the Addition of an Antibody to Standard Chemoradiation Followed by the Antibody for One Year to Standard Chemoradiation Followed by One Year of the Antibody in Patients With Unresectable Stage III Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Start date: April 29, 2020
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This phase III trial studies how well an antibody (durvalumab) with chemotherapy and radiation therapy (chemoradiation) works in treating patients with stage III non-small cell lung cancer that cannot be removed by surgery (unresectable). Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as durvalumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. This study is being done to see if adding durvalumab to standard chemoradiation followed by additional durvalumab can extend patients life and/or prevent the tumor from coming back compared to the usual approach of chemoradiation alone followed by durvalumab.

NCT ID: NCT03963739 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Prostate Adenocarcinoma

Effect of Treatment on Work Experience in Patients With Stage I-III Prostate Cancer

PCW
Start date: July 19, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The objective of this study is to examine how adenocarcinoma of the prostate treatment differentially affects African American men's ability to work and to describe and compare changes in work ability (as measured through self-reported global work ability item) reported by African American and white adenocarcinoma of the prostate survivors before treatment and 6 months after treatment completion.

NCT ID: NCT03887702 Terminated - Clinical trials for Malignant Solid Neoplasm

Prophylactic Antiviral Therapy in Patients With Current or Past Hepatitis B Virus Infection Receiving Anti-Cancer Therapy for Solid Tumors

Start date: January 17, 2020
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This phase III trial studies the effect of hepatitis B antiviral (anti-HBV) therapy in preventing liver complications in patients with chronic or past hepatitis B virus (HBV) who are receiving anti-cancer therapy for solid tumors. People with chronic or past HBV who are undergoing therapy for cancer are at an increased risk for changes in the liver which could be minor or severe. Anti-HBV therapy acts against infections caused by HBV and may help reduce the chance that HBV gets worse or comes back in patients receiving anti-cancer therapy for solid tumors.

NCT ID: NCT03793179 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Stage IV Lung Cancer AJCC v8

Testing the Timing of Pembrolizumab Alone or With Chemotherapy as First Line Treatment and Maintenance in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

Start date: April 5, 2019
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

This phase III trial studies whether pembrolizumab alone as a first-line treatment, followed by pemetrexed and carboplatin with or without pembrolizumab after disease progression is superior to induction with pembrolizumab, pemetrexed and carboplatin followed by pembrolizumab and pemetrexed maintenance in treating patients with stage IV non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Chemotherapy drugs, such as pemetrexed, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Carboplatin is in a class of medications known as platinum-containing compounds. It works in a way similar to the anticancer drug cisplatin, but may be better tolerated than cisplatin. Carboplatin works by killing, stopping or slowing the growth of cancer cells. It is not yet known whether giving first-line pembrolizumab followed by pemetrexed and carboplatin with or without pembrolizumab works better in treating patients with non-squamous non-small cell cancer.

NCT ID: NCT03790761 Completed - Health Behavior Clinical Trials

NCT ID: NCT03766009 Active, not recruiting - Clinical trials for Breast Cancer Stage II

Increasing Patients' Engagement in Breast Cancer Surgery Decision-Making

Start date: March 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This trial studies how well a breast cancer surgery decision aid works in increasing patient engagement in decision making for patients with newly diagnosed stage 0-III breast cancer. The trial also examines barriers to patient engagement even with the use of a decision aid, and if barriers are more likely to be experienced by socioeconomically disadvantaged patients.

NCT ID: NCT03723928 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Anatomic Stage IV Breast Cancer AJCC v8

S1703 Serum Tumor Marker Directed Disease Monitoring in Patients With Hormone Receptor Positive Her2 Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer

Start date: September 17, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This randomized research trial studies how well serum tumor marker directed disease monitoring works in monitoring patients with hormone receptor positive Her2 negative breast cancer that has spread to other places in the body. Using markers to prompt when scans should be ordered may be as good as the usual approach to monitoring disease.

NCT ID: NCT03609021 Terminated - Breast Carcinoma Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Mammographic Breast Density in Participants With Hormone Receptor-Negative Breast Cancer Enrolled on Study A011502

Start date: August 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This phase III trial evaluates mammographic breast density in participants with hormone receptor-negative breast cancer enrolled on study A011502. High breast density has been shown to be a strong risk factor for developing breast cancer and decreasing breast density may decrease the risk for breast cancer. Participants treated with aspirin may show reduced breast density on a mammogram.
