Randomized controlled trial. Sixty-five participants (83% with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder) were recruited from community mental health teams. Fifty-seven met criteria and agreed to participate in the study. The conditions of cognitive rehabilitation were assigned randomly with support employment CR + IPS (n = 28) and IPS alone (n = 29). Cogpack program was used. Two groups were followed at 8 and 12 months after the baseline.

Telerehabilitation Program and Detraining in Patients With Post-COVID-19 Sequelae

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the effects of a 15-week home telerehabilitation program and a detraining period on cardiorespiratory fitness and muscular efficiency in patients with post-COVID-19 sequelae compared to a control group of COVID-19 patients. We hypothesize that cardiorespiratory fitness and muscular efficiency significantly improve in patients who carry out the home telerehabilitation program. However, the cardiorespiratory and muscular adaptations achieved and tolerance to exercise are lost over time as an effect of detraining.

Influence of Physical Exercise as Adjuvant Treatment in Patients With Alzheimer's Disease

The goal of this non-randomized clinical trial is to assess the effects of strength training in the physical function of Alzheimer's disease (AD) patients. The main question it aims to answer are: 1. Is a basic strength training enough to improve physical function in AD patients? 2. Is an exercise intervention able to delayed the progression of the disease? 3. Is an AMRAP intervention feasible in AD patients? Participants in the exercise group will perform a 16-weeks program divided in two phases (phase 1: basic strength training; phase 2: AMRAP training). Participants in both (exercise and control) groups will receive their usual care treatments which include occupational therapy, musicotherapy, cognitive stimulation and sensory stimulation.

Manual Ankle Therapy on Fear of Falls, Range of Motion, and Functionality and Stability in Geriatric Patients

The range of movement of the ankle decreases with age and the plantar arch decreases, adopting a more pronated position of the foot. The main objective is to analyze the effectiveness of manual therapy using ankle joint techniques in geriatric patients. Randomized, double-blind clinical trial with follow-up period. Subjects will be assigned to control and experimental groups using a data analysis tool (Excel). The dependent variable will be the fear of falls. The secondary variables will be the range of movement in dorsiflexion of the ankle, and the functionality and stability of the lower limbs. Three evaluations will be carried out. A baseline measurement before the start of the study (T0), after the intervention (T1) and after a 3-week follow-up period (T2). A manual therapy protocol will be carried out, lasting 3 weeks with 1 weekly session. Each session will last 10 minutes. The patients included in the experimental group will undergo the following manual therapy techniques: talus dorsal sliding technique and joint technique in "8" on the Lisfranc and Chopart joints. The patients included in the control group underwent the same techniques as those indicated for the experimental group, but without sliding or placing joint tension. The periodicity and times of administration will be the same

Flossing Protocol and Manual Therapy in Young Subjects With Recurrent Ankle Sprains

The most frequent lateral ankle sprain mechanism consists of talocrural plantarflexion added to a subtalar inversion. The anterior talofibular ligament, in plantar flexion, suffers maximum stress, being very sensitive to injury mechanisms with inversion of the foot, being the cause of up to 70% of sprains. The risk of injury recurrence must be taken into account. In sports practice, this percentage of recurrence is especially relevant. Randomized clinical study. Participants will be randomized to a control or experimental group. The dependent variable will be the range of motion in ankle dorsiflexion. Secondary variables will be pressure pain threshold, and stability of the foot and ankle. Three evaluations will be carried out: before the start of the study (T0), after the intervention (T1) and after a 4-week follow-up period (T2). All evaluations will be performed by one evaluator, blinded to player assignment The intervention consists of the application of a treatment protocol based on an initial active warm-up consisting of 3 active exercises, walking for 1 minute performing slow and controlled movement of the ankle, raising the heels, 15 repetitions, dorsiflexion of the ankle in the standing position. gentleman, 15 reps. The main question it aims to answer are: - Does MBE-IPL-MGX treatment improve dry eye symptoms? - Does MBE-IPL-MGX treatment improve dry eye signs? Participants were assigned to receive either three sessions of MBE-IPL-MGX treatment and home-based therapy (treatment group) or home-based therapy alone (control group).
