There are about 2320 clinical studies being (or have been) conducted in Chile. The country of the clinical trial is determined by the location of where the clinical research is being studied. Most studies are often held in multiple locations & countries.
IASP defines "pain" as "an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with or resembling that associated with actual or potential tissue damage". In some patients, pain is one of the reasons they initially consult a doctor and will be strongly related to cancer itself, is connected to receiving the cancer diagnosis, and therefore may become an uncertain threat of disease recurrence in cancer survivors. Neuropathic pain is the most prevalent type of pain, but a mixed type of pain is also common, reflecting the complexity of the pain experience. There is increasing evidence in oncology that quality of life and survival are linked to early and effective palliative care, including pain management. Although improvements have been seen, undertreatment of pain remains a problem in a significant subset of cancer patients. Regarding the interventional options in cancer pain, multiple possibilities range from pharmacological modulation, the use of modalities or physical means, as well as the practice of physical exercise as a mechanism of pain modulation, which has been established according to the background grade of recommendation. Regarding education in neuroscience, this has gained momentum in chronic pain since previous interventions have generated recommendations to include neurocognitive interventions in pain processes. Therefore, it seeks to determine the effectiveness of a neuroscience education program compared to conventional treatment in adults with cancer pain in biopsychosocial variables.
This research project aims to determine the effectiveness of a comprehensive anti-stigma intervention in reducing stigmatizing attitudes and behaviours among Primary Health Care (PHC) providers toward individuals with mental illness and/or substance use issues (MISUI) in the Chilean context, using Centros de de Salud Familiar (CESFAMs) as the point of intervention.
The aim of this study is to characterize the safety and tolerability of MORAb-202, and to assess the objective response rate in participants with previously treated, metastatic NSCLC AC.
After tooth extraction, there is a subsequent bone loss as a part of the natural healing of the tissue. Up to 50% of bone loss occurs during the first three months after extraction, jeopardizing a possible implant treatment. Alveolar ridge preservation techniques reduce bone loss, allowing a future implant treatment. Different bone filling materials have been used with good clinical results. The second-generation platelet concentrates (L-PRF) have recently been shown to induce bone regeneration when filling the socket after extraction, with significant biological and economic advantages. The hypothesis of this study is to test whether or not the use of L-PRF in alveolar ridge preservation results in a non-inferior horizontal radiographic change compared with the combination of a xenogeneic bone substitute with a collagen matrix.
This randomized Phase 3 open-label study will compare the efficacy of the T-cell immunoglobulin and immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motif (ITIM) domain (TIGIT) monoclonal antibody domvanalimab, the anti programmed cell death protein 1 (PD-1) monoclonal antibody zimberelimab, and multiagent chemotherapy versus the anti PD-1 monoclonal antibody nivolumab and multiagent chemotherapy in the first-line treatment of participants with locally advanced unresectable or metastatic gastric, gastroesophageal junction (GEJ), and esophageal adenocarcinoma.
This substudy is part of an umbrella platform study which is designed to evaluate investigational agents with or without pembrolizumab in participants with urothelial carcinoma who are in need of new treatment options. Substudy 04A will enroll participants with locally advanced or mUC whose disease is resistant to treatment with programmed cell death-1/ligand 1 (PD-1/L1) inhibitors. The protocol infrastructure will enable the rolling assignment of investigational treatments.
This study is open to adults aged 18 and older or above legal age who have systemic sclerosis. People can participate if they have a specific subtype called diffuse cutaneous systemic sclerosis. People with another subtype called limited cutaneous systemic sclerosis can also participate if they are anti Scl-70 antibody positive. Systemic sclerosis is also called scleroderma. The purpose of this study is to find out whether a medicine called Avenciguat (BI 685509) helps people with scleroderma who have symptoms due to lung fibrosis or vascular problems. Participants are put into 2 groups by chance. One group takes Avenciguat (BI 685509) tablets 3 times a day and the other group takes placebo tablets 3 times a day. Placebo tablets look like BI 685509 tablets but do not contain any medicine. Participants take the tablets for at least 11 months. Afterwards, participants can continue to take the tablets until the last participant has completed the 11-months treatment period. This means that the time in the study and duration of treatment is different for each participant, depending on when they start the study. At the beginning of the study, participants visit the study site every 2 weeks. The time between the visits to the study site gets longer over the course of the study. After the 11-months treatment period, participants visit the study site every 3 months. During the study, participants regularly do lung function tests. The results are compared between the 2 groups to see whether the treatment works. The participants also regularly fill in questionnaires about their scleroderma symptoms. The doctors regularly check participants' skin condition and general health and take note of any unwanted effects.
IMPAHCT-FUL: Inhaled Imatinib Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension Clinical Trial - Follow Up Long Term Extension (LTE) Trial is a follow up study to establish the long-term safety of AV-101. The long-term effects of AV-101 on efficacy measures will also be assessed. Subjects who successfully complete the 24-week placebo-controlled parent trial (AV-101-002) will be offered the opportunity to continue into this LTE study. Subjects who enroll in the study will receive one of three active AV-101 doses until such time as the optimal dose has been selected in the parent study.
This study is designed to assess the efficacy and safety of datopotamab deruxtecan (Dato-DXd) in combination with pembrolizumab versus pembrolizumab in combination with pemetrexed and platinum chemotherapy in participants with no prior therapy for advanced or metastatic non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
The high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) has increased its evidence in patients during pulmonary rehabilitation. These studies hypothesize that the physiological effects of HFNC (positive expiratory pressure, anatomical dead space lavage, thermo-humidification) lead to an increase in exercise time. This is believed to be due to improvements that the device can generate in the respiratory system and muscles. However, the physiological effects of HFNC on respiratory effort and distribution of pulmonary ventilation during exercise are unknown. The aim of this study is to determine the acute effect of high flow nasal cannula on the distribution of pulmonary ventilation and respiratory effort during physical exercise in healthy subjects.
