Filter by:This study will assess the acceptability, feasibility, and impact of game-based computer-delivered cognitive training on cognitive function in persons with cognitive symptoms that persist after recovery from acute coronavirus-19 (COVID) infection.
Corona virus disease has been a pandemic since its beginning. The problem has scaled to break health care system of multiple countries. One of the prime strategy of preventing this disease has been large mass scale vaccination campaign ongoing worldwide. No vaccine has been proven to 100 percent effective in preventing the infection with coronavirus disease so far. The investigators are conducting a study comparing outcome among vaccinated and unvaccinated population admitted to critical care unit of civil services hospital, Kathmandu , Nepal .
Although COVID-19 infects gastrointestinal tissues, little is known about the roles of gut commensal microbes in susceptibility to and severity of infection. The investigators will analyze the alterations in fecal microbiomes of patients with COVID-19 infection during hospitalization.
This is an open-label and non-randomized study to demonstrate the immunogenicity and safety profile in adults that received the Ad5-nCoV vaccine at least 21 days but no later than 90 days after the first dose of Sputnik V. The non-inferiority hypothesis is used for the evaluation of the exploratory objective. The ratio of Geometric mean titers (GMTs) of SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing antibody in participants on Day 21 post-vaccination of Ad5-nCoV (previously received a 1st dose of Sputnik V) (Group A) and two doses of Sputnik V (Group B) is used for the evaluation of this hypothesis. It is assumed to enroll about 100 subjects for each group. Additionally, 45 participants will be selected from Group A (to enter the immunogenicity subgroup for cellular immune response analysis. According to the above, considering extra subjects for compensating about 10% dropouts, the sample size of Group A is designed to be 450, for Group B is 200. Participants enrolled in Group A (1st dose of Sputnik V plus 1 dose of Ad5-nCoV) must have only received the 1st dose of Sputnik V and the interval between the previous injection (1st dose of Sputnik V) and the day of vaccination with Ad5-nCoV should be between 21 and 90 days. The comparator (Group B) will be the samples stored at the immunology lab of the Buenos Aires University Medical School, corresponding to individuals vaccinated with 2 doses of Sputnik V.
The primary purpose is to describe the safety of administration of three doses of STS to critically ill patients with confirmed COVID-19. A secondary purpose is to describe data on the clinical efficacy of administration of up to three doses of STS in critically ill patients with confirmed COVID-19.
Establishment of a biological bank of subjects vaccinated against SARS-Cov-2 infection (COVID-BioVac)
The Polymerase Chain Reaction (rRT-PCR) test is still the gold standard in the diagnosis of coronavirus disease. Health workers apply this procedure in a closed area, wearing personal protective equipment. Adolescents cannot be informed about the invasive procedure and it is difficult to communicate with them. Before the procedure, the effect on anxiety will be investigated by watching an informative video (containing information such as the materials used in the procedure, how long the procedure will take, how the sample will be taken, why healthcare workers wear personal protective equipment) prepared according to the developmental characteristics of the adolescents.
Demographic, Clinical and laboratory data as well as outcome of total 202 COVID-19 patients who were Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) positive and admitted in Fatima memorial Hospital, Lahore, Pakistan, was collected during first and other waves. Data of First wave is from May 2020 to July 2020, second wave from early November to Mid December 2020 and third wave from Mid march to June 2021. Investigator analyzed the data on basis of Systemic immune inflammatory index (SII) as well hematological parameters of First Wave were compared to other waves of COVID-19.
This is a randomised controlled experiment in the form of a web based survey study which randomly exposes participants to different forms of public health messages, after which participants will be assessed on their intent to take up the COVID-19 vaccine, recommend the vaccine, and also willingness to propagate the exposed message.
The CRP/albumin ratio (CAR) is a recently defined parameter which represents the ratio of a positive acute phase reactant to a negative acute phase reactant. Recent studies have shown that the CRP/albumin ratio is a biomarker with prognostic value for various inflammatory disorders and serious diseases. With this study it is aimed to investigate the effect of CRP/albumin ratio in predicting the severity and prognosis of the disease in pregnant patients with more severe Covid-19 infection.
