Filter by:The objective of this observational study was to investigate the clinical significance of benign mesenteric lymph node (BLNE) enlargement in patients with colorectal cancer. The main questions it aims to answer are: Do patients with benign mesenteric lymph node enlargement have a better prognosis? What are the clinical characteristics of benign mesenteric lymph node enlargement? As part of routine medical care for colorectal cancer, we will follow up with all participants over the course of the study.

Tumor recurrence significantly affects survival rates following the local resection of submucosal colorectal cancers (T1 CRC). Despite this, there are currently no reliable biomarkers established to predict recurrence in T1 CRC. This study seeks to improve the prediction of recurrence-free survival in individuals who have survived T1 CRC.
The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate the effectiveness of localized interventions in improving the 5-year survival rate for colorectal cancer patients with ≥10 liver metastases. We aim to answer the following question: Can localized interventions, including surgery and/or ablation and/or stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT), enhance the 5-year survival rate compared to palliative chemotherapy alone in patients with ≥10 colorectal liver metastases (CRLM)? Participants in this study, who have achieved disease control through chemotherapy, will undergo either localized interventions (surgery and/or ablation and/or SBRT) or receive palliative chemotherapy alone. Researchers will compare the survival outcomes between these groups to determine the potential benefits of localized interventions for patients with ≥10 CRLM.
The SYLMET Trial is a randomized trial to compare simultaneous and two-staged resection of primary colorectal and synchronous liver metastases. This is an investigator-initiated, multicentre, randomized controlled trial to assess complications (primary endpoint), survival, cost-effectiveness, and quality of life (secondary endpoints).This trial will include patients with resectable primary tumour in the colon or upper rectum with less than five liver metastases that is possible to treat with surgical resection and/or ablation (RFA/MWA) at time of evaluation.

Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) is used for preoperative risk assessment in patients with colorectal cancer who need to undergo surgery. For presentation and interpretation purposes, CPET data are averaged by using a time- or breath-based average. It is uncertain to what extent differences in data averaging methods influence the numerical value of preoperative CPET-derived variables used for risk assessment. Therefore, the primary aim of this study is to investigate the influence of different CPET data averaging intervals on the numerical values of CPET-derived variables used for preoperative risk assessment in patients scheduled for elective colorectal cancer surgery. The secondary aim is to elucidate the impact of data-averaging intervals on classification of patients into a low- or high-risk category for postoperative complications based on known risk assessment thresholds.
