NCT ID: NCT00307814 Completed - Anemia Clinical Trials

A Study to Evaluate PROCRIT (Epoetin Alfa) for Maintenance Phase Treatment of Patients With Anemia Due to Chronic Kidney Disease (PROMPT)

Start date: January 2002
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of less frequent dosing of PROCRIT (Epoetin alfa) in patients with anemia due to Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) as assessed by hemoglobin maintenance, adverse events and health-related quality of life.

NCT ID: NCT00268957 Completed - Kidney Diseases Clinical Trials

Study to Compare Sevelamer Carbonate Powder to Sevelamer Hydrochloride Tablets in Patients With CKD on Hemodialysis

Start date: January 2006
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Approximately 207 patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) on hemodialysis will be entered into this study at approximately 26 centers in the United States. This study aims to evaluate the safety and efficacy of sevelamer carbonate powder dosed once-a-day (QD) with the largest meal compared to sevelamer hydrochloride tablets dosed three-times-per-day (TID) with meals. The total length of participation is approximately 24 weeks.

MESNA for Prevention of Acute Deterioration of Renal Function Following Contrast Agent Application

Start date: October 2002
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine wether Mesna could prevent contrast-induced nephropathy

NCT ID: NCT00184769 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Kidney Disease

Growth Hormone Treatment in Infants Aged 1 to 2 Years With Chronic Renal Insufficiency (CRI) and Growth Retardation.

Start date: January 29, 1998
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

This trial is conducted in Europe. Objective(s): To evaluate the effect of human growth hormone on infants aged 1 to 2 years with chronic renal insufficiency (CRI) and growth retardation despite an adequate dietary intake. Trial Design: This is an open, parallel group clinical trial with a duration of one year, in which period 50% of patients will receive GH treatment and the other 50% will act as a control group, without treatment. Trial Population: The trial will involve a total of 16 infants aged from 12±3 to 24 months suffering chronic renal insufficiency (Glomerular Filtration Rate less than 60 ml/min/1.73 m2), and growth failure and undergoing conservative treatment or peritoneal dialysis. Include the key inclusion and exclusion criteria.

NCT ID: NCT00123461 Completed - Renal Failure Clinical Trials

Study of Safety and Efficacy of Doxercalciferol in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease, Stage 3 or 4, and Secondary Hyperparathyroidism

Start date: July 2005
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the safety and effectiveness of Hectorol® (doxercalciferol) capsules in treating patients with Stage 3 or Stage 4 chronic kidney disease (CKD) with secondary hyperparathyroidism who have vitamin D levels in the normal range. Previous studies with doxercalciferol were conducted in patients who had low levels of vitamin D.
