Filter by:The association between homologous recombination (HR) gene mutations and homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) status in Chinese epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) patients is little known. This study would recruit 400 Chinese EOC patients with known targeted gene mutations via a multi-panel testing of 27 genes, including BRCA1/BRCA2. All patients accept evaluation of HRD model, which is based on the loss of heterozygosity (LOH), telomere allele imbalance (TAI) and large-scale state transitions (LST). The mutated genes, HRD score model and their relationship with the prognosis, would provide a full description of for the Chinese EOC patients, and a potential explanation of platinum-resistance in such population.
Tone language refers to a language that uses fixed pitch pattern to distinguish words (Yip, 2002). Understanding the functional anatomy of the brain during lexical tone processing will provide useful hints for an effective intervention strategy such as brain stimulation. The present study investigate the cortical organisation of the brain in lexical tone perception of Cantonese speakers by the use of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI).
This study aims to explore the impacts of CHD and its limitations on adolescents and the living experience of adolescents living with CHD. Hong Kong Chinese adolescents with CHD are having reduced psychological well-being and quality of life than their healthy counterparts. Qualitative study is therefore needed to explore how CHD may impact on the adolescents' psychological well-being and quality of life.
This study is experimental and will prospectively assess the proportion of patients in the two (2) MammaPrint Risk categories in patients of Chinese descent.
