NCT ID: NCT05396053 Completed - Clinical trials for Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy

Mirror Therapy Versus CIMT on Hand Function in Cerebral Palsy

Start date: May 26, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim is to investigate the effect of mirror therapy on hand functions in children with hemiplegic cerebral palsy.

NCT ID: NCT05392335 Completed - Clinical trials for Cerebral Palsy, Functional Massage, Myofacial Stretch

Myofascial Stretch With And Without Functional Massage In Children With Cerebral Palsy

Start date: May 13, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Cerebral palsy is one of the most common childhood disabilities, and it occurs with an incidence of 2-2.5 per 1000 living births. Children with CP have various impairments including neuromuscular and musculoskeletal problems such as spasticity, dyscoordination, loss of selective motor control, and weakness. CP can be classified according to the severity of motor deficits as mild, moderate, or severe. Several other classification systems exist based on the pathophysiology, etiology, and distribution of motor deficits. The aim of the study to evaluate the effects of functional massage and myofascial stretch on spasticity and motor function of CP Children. Study will be conducted in 22 patients in experimental and control group. Pre and Post values will be evaluated. The tools used will be Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS) and Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM). The significance of this study is that it will define for us that to how much extent we can improve the Spastic and painful condition of lower limb of CP child. Data will be analyzed using SPSS 22.0 mean and standard deviation will be calculated. Appropriate the statistical test will be used after checking normality of data.

NCT ID: NCT05391594 Completed - Cerebral Palsy Clinical Trials

Effect of Trunk Support on Academic Engagement of Children With Severe Disability

Start date: May 31, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study evaluates the effect of optimizing trunk support based on segmental principles of trunk control, on academic engagement of children in academic settings.

NCT ID: NCT05388422 Completed - Clinical trials for Cerebral Palsy, Spastic

Application of 3D Scanner to Measure Physical Size in Patients With Severe Cerebral Palsy

Start date: June 2, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study is to improve the manufacturing techniques of hip brace in preventing progressive hip displacement in patients with severe cerebral palsy, through the measurement of patient's physical size using a 3D scanner.

NCT ID: NCT05384990 Recruiting - Cerebral Palsy Clinical Trials

Sensorimotor Control During Postural Transitions in CP

Start date: April 1, 2024
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether a light electrical stimulation to leg muscles and joints can help people with Cerebral Palsy (CP) maintain balance during everyday tasks such as getting up from a chair and walking. Children and young adults with CP can have trouble with daily tasks such as standing up, sitting down on the chair and turning. The difficulty in maintaining balance sometimes lead to falls. This raises risk of disability in CP as children age into teens and adults. Current treatments are not very effective. In this study, children and young adults will be asked to stand up from a stool, walk in a straight line, turn, walk back and sit down on the stool. Participants will receive electrical stimulation at a very low intensity that cannot be felt to help increase their sensory perception. The investigators will evaluate treatment by testing balance, and other functional measures.

NCT ID: NCT05384951 Active, not recruiting - Cerebral Palsy Clinical Trials

HMB Cerebral Palsy Pilot Study

Start date: May 15, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This is a pilot study of β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate (HMB) + Vitamin D3 supplementation in adolescents with cerebral palsy. The primary objective is to quantify safety, compliance, and acceptability of daily combined HMB + Vitamin D3 supplementation for 12 weeks in adolescents with CP. The secondary objective is to quantify changes in lower extremity muscle mass, strength, and functional mobility after daily combined HMB + Vitamin D3 supplementation for 12 weeks.

NCT ID: NCT05381233 Recruiting - Evaluations Clinical Trials

Quality of Life and Functional Performance in Children With Spastic Cerebral Palsy

Start date: January 1, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Caregiver Burden (CB) is expressed as a multidimensional response related to caregiving, including physical, psychological, emotional, social, and economic problems and has been identified as a public health concern. All these factors negatively affect caregiver health and indirectly affect the care of the disabled child .To provide better support for parents of children with CP, we must understand the difficulties faced those parents and identify the key and common areas where assistance can be rendered.

NCT ID: NCT05380011 Completed - Clinical trials for Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy

Bimanual Task Training and Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy in Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy Children

Start date: May 20, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Various studies have been done comparing the individual effects of the two interventions of Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy and Bimanual Task Training in Hemiplegic Cerebral Palsy Children, but this study will compare the effects of combined interventions with a single intervention. This study will contribute to the upper motor function in hemiplegic cerebral palsy children i.e. manual dexterity, grasp and release function, quality and efficacy of movement, combined bimanual use of both hands and coordination, as a result of two intervention protocols.

NCT ID: NCT05378243 Recruiting - Cerebral Palsy Clinical Trials

Innovative Robotic Gait Trainer Use to Enable Walking in Children With Cerebral Palsy GMFCS III and IV

Start date: November 8, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Exploration to optimize mixed quantitative and qualitative methodology using multiple outcome measures in a randomized, cross-over trial structure comparing the effect of robotic gait training (RGT) group, and functional clinical therapy (FCT) using each subject as their own control.
