NCT ID: NCT00003775 Completed - Clinical trials for Brain and Central Nervous System Tumors

Leflunomide in Treating Patients With Anaplastic Astrocytoma in First Relapse

Start date: December 1998
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of leflunomide in treating patients who have anaplastic astrocytoma in first relapse.

NCT ID: NCT00003765 Completed - Clinical trials for Brain and Central Nervous System Tumors

O6-benzylguanine and Carmustine in Treating Children With Refractory CNS Tumors

Start date: May 1999
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of O6-benzylguanine and carmustine in treating children who have refractory CNS tumors. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells.

NCT ID: NCT00003751 Completed - Clinical trials for Brain and Central Nervous System Tumors

Penicillamine, Low Copper Diet, and Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients With Glioblastoma

Start date: March 1999
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Penicillamine may stop the growth of glioblastomas by stopping blood flow to the tumor. A diet low in copper may interfere with the growth of brain tumor cells. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining these therapies may be effective in treating glioblastoma. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of penicillamine, a low copper diet, and radiation therapy in treating patients who have newly diagnosed glioblastoma.

NCT ID: NCT00003731 Completed - Clinical trials for Brain and Central Nervous System Tumors

Temozolomide in Treating Patients With Recurrent Oligodendroglial Tumors

Start date: December 1998
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of temozolomide in treating patients with recurrent oligodendroglial tumors.

NCT ID: NCT00003712 Completed - Clinical trials for Unspecified Adult Solid Tumor, Protocol Specific

CCI-779 in Treating Patients With Advanced Solid Tumors

Start date: January 2001
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of CCI-779 in treating patients who have advanced solid tumors.

NCT ID: NCT00003657 Completed - Lung Cancer Clinical Trials

High-dose ICE With Amifostine

Start date: July 1998
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to evaluate the combination of amifostine and high dose chemotherapy with blood stem cell support. Amifostine is a druf developed to protect normal tissues against the toxicities of chemotherapy and radiotherapy and has reduced the side effects of chemotherapy given at conventional doses.

NCT ID: NCT00003625 Completed - Brain Tumors Clinical Trials

Combination Chemotherapy Plus Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients With Newly Diagnosed Brain Stem Glioma

Start date: December 1998
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining more than one chemotherapy drug with radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy plus radiation therapy in treating patients with newly diagnosed brain stem glioma.

NCT ID: NCT00003621 Completed - Clinical trials for Brain and Central Nervous System Tumors

Combination Chemotherapy Plus Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients With Anaplastic Astrocytoma

Start date: February 1999
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Combining more than one drug with radiation therapy may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy plus radiation therapy in treating patients who have newly diagnosed anaplastic astrocytoma.

NCT ID: NCT00003616 Completed - Clinical trials for Brain and Central Nervous System Tumors

Irinotecan in Treating Patients With Progressive or Recurrent Malignant Glioma

Start date: October 22, 1998
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of irinotecan in treating patients who have progressive or recurrent malignant glioma.

NCT ID: NCT00003574 Completed - Clinical trials for Brain and Central Nervous System Tumors

Radiation Therapy in Treating Patients With Progressive or Recurrent Malignant Brain Tumors

Start date: April 1999
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Giving radiation therapy in different ways may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of radiation therapy in treating patients who are undergoing surgical removal of progressive or recurrent malignant brain tumors.
