NCT ID: NCT05962632 Not yet recruiting - Caries Prevention Clinical Trials

Efficacy and Cost-effectiveness of Different Caries Preventive Protocols

Start date: September 1, 2023
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

To compare the caries preventive efficacy of clinical-based, home based or E-based oral health interventions and their cost effectiveness.

NCT ID: NCT04579536 Recruiting - Caries Prevention Clinical Trials

Effectiveness of Using (Vanish XT) in Prevention of Occlusal Caries: a RCT

Start date: February 1, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Despite the continuous effort to prevent and treat dental caries, it continues to be one of the most common chronic diseases in both children and adults. Prevention and minimally intervention treatment by early detection of the lesion are becoming the new philosophy in managing dental caries. The prevalence of pit and fissure caries was found to be 90% of all dental caries in permanent molars. Moreover, the risk of caries development is higher soon after the tooth had erupted. The purpose of the current study is; to evaluate the effectiveness of a resin-modified glass ionmer cement (Vanish XT) varnish in the prevention of occlusal caries and compare it to a fluoride varnish in newly erupted first permanent molars.

NCT ID: NCT04272866 Active, not recruiting - Caries Prevention Clinical Trials

Comparing Bond Strength,Microleakage and Clinical Performance of Three Pit and Fissure Sealants

Start date: July 3, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of the study is :- 1. To evaluate and compare the microleakage of three different fissure sealants(resin-based Clinpro sealant, Moisture tolerant resin-based Embrace WetBond sealant and glass ionomer Fuji Triage sealant) in vitro. 2. To evaluate and compare the bond strength of three different fissure sealants(resin-based Clinpro sealant, Moisture tolerant resin-based Embrace WetBond sealant and glass ionomer Fuji Triage sealant) in vitro. 3. To clinically evaluate and compare the retention of three different fissure sealants(resin-based Clinpro sealant, Moisture tolerant resin-based Embrace WetBond sealant and glass ionomer-based Fuji Triage sealant). 4. To clinically evaluate and compare the caries prevention effect of three different fissure sealants(resin-based Clinpro sealant, Moisture tolerant resin-based Embrace WetBond sealant and glass ionomer-based Fuji Triage sealant).

NCT ID: NCT02063815 Completed - Fissure Sealant Clinical Trials

A Trial of Caries Prevention Effect of Fissure Sealants

Start date: June 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this randomized clinical trial was to compare caries prevention of a conventional resin-based sealant and a glass-ionomer sealant placed on occlusal pits and fissures over a one year period in a high caries children group. Additionally the concentration of Fluoride in saliva was evaluated.

NCT ID: NCT01648075 Completed - Caries Prevention Clinical Trials

Effect of the Consumption of Probiotics in the Reduction of Incidence of Carious Lesions in Preschool Children

Probiotics
Start date: July 2012
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Probiotics are microorganisms that when administered in adequate amounts can confer health benefits. In vitro and clinical studies support the idea that lactobacilli have protective effects on oral health. A recent study in which preschoolers consumed milk drinks enriched with Lactobacillus rhamnosus, reported a reduction in caries, as well as additional benefits to children. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of daily consumption of milk beverages enriched with Lactobacillus rhamnosus on the incidence of caries in preschool Chilean children.
