NCT ID: NCT02838355 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Cardiovascular Disease

Employing End Tidal Capnography in Continuous Flow Ventricular Assist Device Patients

Start date: October 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to explore how the End Tidal Carbon Dioxide monitoring via nasal cannula (ETCO2-NC) device may allow for earlier detection of respiratory complications. This device will detect the amount of carbon dioxide exhaled with each breath and may better predict high levels of this than traditional monitoring. This may reduce the number and severity of respiratory issues. A convenience sample of 60 participants either scheduled for continuous flow left ventricular assist device (CF-LVAD) implant or who have been readmitted to an ICU with a CF-LVAD will be recruited and randomized to usual care or usual care plus ETCO2-NC throughout their stay in the ICU.

NCT ID: NCT01825239 Withdrawn - Cardiomyopathy Clinical Trials

Virtual LV Lead Navigation in Patients With Ischemic Cardiomyopathy

Start date: April 2014
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Presently, the left ventricular lead is placed in a similar position for all patients. It is not known whether placing this lead in different positions in the heart will make the heart pump better. In this study, the investigator will collect measurements of the heart's electrical activity during an Electrophysiology Study (EP study or EPS). The hope is that these measurements will provide the know how to develop an individualized left ventricular lead placement "prescription" for patients referred for left ventricular lead pacing.

NCT ID: NCT00428103 Withdrawn - Clinical trials for Congestive Heart Failure

Effects of Mitral Valve Repair With the Geoform Ring on Cardiomyopathy

Start date: October 2006
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The primary aim of this study is to assess the changes on the shape and function of the left ventricle in patients with severe mitral valve regurgitation due to congestive heart failure and cardiomyopathy who undergo mitral valve reconstruction with a Geoform ring. Three-dimensional echocardiogram will be used for precise evaluation of the shape and function of the ventricle.
