This is a virtual, double-blind, two-arm, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial that will last 12 weeks. Participants will take the CanXida Remove Candida Cleansing Formula RMV or a placebo product daily and complete questionnaires at Baseline, Week 6, and Week 12. Candida microbiome testing will be conducted via stool sample at Baseline and Week 12. The participants will all be blinded to the name of the test brand.

NCT ID: NCT05908682 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Vulvovaginal Candidiasis

Safety of Pregnant Subjects Exposed to Ibrexafungerp Including Infant Outcomes

Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

This is an ongoing evaluation of subjects exposed to ibrexafungerp while pregnant. The study population will include pregnant women of any age.

NCT ID: NCT05761197 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Early Childhood Caries

Oropharyngeal Candidiasis (OPC) and S-ECC

Oral-Thrush
Start date: July 1, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The overall objective of this study is to investigate the association of early Candida infection (known as oral thrush or oropharyngeal candidiasis, OPC) in children during the first year of life with the onset and severity of severe early childhood caries (S-ECC).

NCT ID: NCT05720728 Completed - Candida Infection Clinical Trials

Research of New Serological Markers for the Diagnosis and Monitoring of Candidaemia in Hospitalized Patients

2419
Start date: May 14, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Bloodstream infections due to Candida spp remain a serious medical challenge because of their high incidence and poor outcome. Diagnosis and monitoring of patients are still problematic, hindering efficient clinical management of the disease. The invastigators propose here to perform a retrospective study in a clinically well-characterized candidemic patient, with the goal of recognizing host immunological factors and virulence-associated fungal molecules relevant in the onset and evolution of infection. The researchers' ultimate goal is to identify new diagnostic and/or prognostic benchmarks useful in clinical settings. By combining serologic and immunologic expertise with clinical expertise, the research team has real potential to generate new markers of host pathogenesis and immune response in candidemia and to inform prospective clinical trials to control this terrible disease

NCT ID: NCT05225493 Recruiting - HIV Infections Clinical Trials

HIV Indicator Diseases in Hospital and Primary Care

#AwareHIV
Start date: January 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Patients are frequently evaluated by physicians for medical work-up of HIV indicator conditions in hospital and in primary care at the general practitioner. Testing for HIV is indicated with HIV indicator disorder but often omitted in clinical work-up. Besides the fact that HIV testing is forgotten, there are other reasons such as an underestimation of the risk of HIV in the event of indicator disorders, stigma and difficulties in discussing the test with a patient. Also and more relevant for primary care than for the hospital, practical challenges can exist for a patient to go to a laboratory, or costs are a hurdle. This project focuses on improving HIV indicator condition driven testing in different settings of the HIV epidemic, initially in the Netherlands as low HIV prevalence setting followed by an assessment of its benefit in different international settings. A specific focus will also be on the Rotterdam area in the Netherlands which has a high prevalence of undiagnosed HIV in the Netherlands. The ultimate aim is to decrease the number of undiagnosed HIV in populations, improve the 90-90-90 HIV cascade of care goals particularly its first pillar, and to help supporting the UNAIDS goal to end HIV/AIDS

NCT ID: NCT04935463 Completed - Covid19 Clinical Trials

Mucormycosis in COVID-19

MUNCO
Start date: May 24, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose is to allow phsyician reporters to contribute to MUNCO registry. Mucormycosis in COVID-19 is a rapidly escalating medical emergency reported in high numbers in India during the ongoing coronavirus surge. There is very little known about the risk factors, patterns and complications of mucormycosis as it occurs either during the infection or treatment phase of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). In light of this emerging epidemic within a pandemic, it is of time sensitive importance to obtain a better understanding of the risk factors and outcomes of this fatal complication

NCT ID: NCT04148287 Completed - Candidemia Clinical Trials

An Open-label Study of APX001 for Treatment of Patients With Candidemia/Invasive Candidiasis Caused by Candida Auris

APEX
Start date: December 13, 2019
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This is a multicenter, open-label, single arm study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of APX001 for the treatment of candidemia and/or invasive candidiasis caused by C. auris in patients aged 18 years and over with limited antifungal treatment options.

NCT ID: NCT03666195 Not yet recruiting - Denture Stomatitis Clinical Trials

The Anti-microbial Effect of Titanium Dioxide Nano Particles in Complete Dentures Made for Edentulous Patients

Start date: October 15, 2018
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Although cleaning dentures by immersion in chemical denture cleaning solutions is effective in reducing the number of bacteria, a large number remains adhering to the denture surface. Thus, the mechanical cleansing of dentures is imperative to remove adherent microbes, and prevent diseases. This is not always easy to achieve, due to un-compliant patients, or patients with diminished manual dexterity (e.g. Mani phalanx dysfunction or Rheumatoid Arthritis) that often require assistance in cleaning their dentures, which may not always be available. Therefore, the modification of denture base materials to provide them with antibacterial properties to control oral biofilm formation, and producing dentures that can be cleaned by simply rinsing in water would prove to be valuable in oral hygienic management in complete denture-wearing patients.

NCT ID: NCT03641131 Completed - Fungal Infection Clinical Trials

Ampholipad Real-World Data in Taiwan

Start date: September 9, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

A retrospective, post-marketing, multi-center chart review study includes patients who had been prescribed Ampholipad.

NCT ID: NCT03630770 Completed - Premature Infant Clinical Trials

Effect of Medium Chain Triglyceride Intake on Colonization of Preterm Infants With Candida

Start date: June 5, 2014
Phase: Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

This study evaluates whether adding a dietary supplement similar to coconut oil (MCT oil) to feedings in premature infants will reduce the amount of yeast (Candida) detectable in their stool. Infants who have Candida in their stool are eligible to participate. Half of the enrolled infants will have additional MCT oil added to their feedings and half will not.
