Filter by:Burnout appears to be highly prevalent among oncology nurses, which was a problem not only for the nurses themselves but for the patients for whom they provide care. How to mitigate and prevent burnout and improve nursing performance outcomes is an urgent problem for nursing manager. In a sample of 99 oncology nurses, immunological characteristics were compared to burnout scores. In a randomized trial, 90 oncology nurses suffering burnout were randomized to receive psychological capital intervention or routine psychological care. Participants were assessed before and after treatment using measures of burnout, psychological capital and immunological characteristics.
A reliable method for monitoring stress and burnout among medical students is critically needed. To address this gap, our team aims to utilize the cost-effective WHOOP strap 4.0 wearable device to continuously capture stress-relevant physiologic data (i.e., sleep hours, heart rate variability, respiration rate, resting heart rate) among up to 50 third-year medical students at 24 Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University for 6 months.
Mindfulness; It is the state of paying attention and being aware of what is happening right now. Mindfulness, includes noticing what is happening in the present moment and the way of meeting all that is noticed. The research will be conducted in a randomized controlled manner in order to determine the Effect of MBSR (Conscious Awareness Based Stress Reduction) Program on Anxiety, Work Related Emotional Burnout and Job Satisfaction in midwives. Data will be collected from midwives working at Gaziantep Cengiz Gökçek Gynecology and Childhood Hospital between September 1 and December 30, 2022. Midwives who agree to participate in the study and meet the criteria will be sent and asked to fill in web-based online questionnaires (Whatsapp) prepared by the researchers through Google Forms. As a pre-test, "Descriptive Information Form", "Beck Anxiety Scale (BAI)", "Work-Related Emotional Burnout Scale" and "Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale (MSQ) Short Form" will be administered to midwives in the experimental and control groups. After the stress reduction program based on mindfulness was applied online by the researcher to the experimental group, 2 sessions a week for 4 weeks (1 month), a total of 8 sessions; Post-test data will be obtained by re-applying the "Beck Anxiety Scale (BAS)", "Work-Related Emotional Burnout Scale" and "Minnesota Job Satisfaction Scale (MSQ) Short Form" scale to the experimental group and simultaneously to the control group. The universe of the research will be composed of midwives working at Gaziantep Cengiz Gökçek Gynecology and Childhood Hospital on the relevant dates. The minimum number of individuals to be included in the sample of the study was determined by power analysis. Sample size when power analysis is done; Assuming that the method applied with 5% error level, bidirectional significance level, 95% confidence interval and 80% ability to represent the universe, would reduce the anxiety score averages (8.20±8.64) by 6 points, a total of 66 midwives (33 experimental, 33 control) calculated. A total of 80 midwives (40 experimental, 40 control) are planned to be included in the study, taking into account possible case losses (approximately 20%).
New working environments (digitalization, flexibilization) can lead to increased levels of stress. A balanced work-life balance is therefore important in order to prevent negative effects of stress on mental health. This study investigates, 1. how stress, recovery, nutritional behavior, resilience and sleep behavior are related to the changed working conditions. 2. how standardized nutritional training affects individual body composition (measured using Bioelectrical Impedance Analyses, BIA), stress perception, burn-out symptoms and sleep.
In our Research the goal is to examine the level of stress and burnout among social care workers and their causes and effects after COVID-19 pandemic. We would like to examine the migration from work trend and its socio-demographic causes in the light of COVID-19 pandemic among social care workers in Hungary. We would like to analyze the extent of stress and burnout at work after COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the resulting turnover intentions in Hungary among social care workers. Our goal is to validate on hungarian population the Turnover Intention Scale (TIS-6), to measure fluctuation and migration.

Burnout has been shown to cause decreased work output and mental well being of employees and increase errors at workplace. Burnout is observed in various lines of work and but has been found to be especially high among academic students undertaking professional studies as well as healthcare professionals. Medical students in their clerkship years undergo high stake exams, while adapting from classroom and simulation learning to participate in clinical care of patients in hospital care setting with no prior experience, which much them vulnerable to developing burnout during medical school. Burnout can effect medical students' well-being, which may continue into their internship and residency so greater emphasis in required on creating an awareness of burnout and identifying any factors associated to its development.

The burnout among diabetes specialist trainees in United Kingdom was found to be over 50% in a study done in pre-pandemic times in 2018 and there is a need to repeat this study to see if there any change in terms of presence of burnout in this group of health care professionals.
Older people with multimorbidity are frequent users of health care services, and there is a relationship between the number of chronic conditions and health care costs. In addition, multimorbidity increases the risk of mortality and functional decline, and this negatively impacts health-related quality of life . According to different empirically supported theoretical frameworks that point to the importance for caregivers of experiencing pleasant events and receiving positive reinforcement in their daily lives in order to maintain a positive mood, not engaging in personally satisfying activities may result in more social withdrawal and depression, putting caregivers at risk of developing emotional disorders.

The program will be addressed to employees at the beginning of their careers and will have the aim of boosting their well-being and performance.
