NCT ID: NCT05070182 Completed - Brain Injuries Clinical Trials

Resting Energy Needs in Brain Dead Patients (reSting EneRgy nEeds iN brAin DEad Patients)

SERENADE
Start date: June 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The study will examine the resting energy need (REE) in patients suffering from brain damage. For the measurement of REE will be used a metabolic computer (which with continuous recording of breath-to-breath volume (Vt), respiratory rate (RR) of ventilation per minute volume (MV) ), of inhaled and exhaled gases (O2 and CO2) has the ability to calculate the values of VO2, VCO2 and with the help of equations the values of REE and RQ.

NCT ID: NCT02494726 Completed - Ischemic Stroke Clinical Trials

Prospective Analysis of the Use of TEG in Stroke Patients

TEG
Start date: November 2009
Phase: N/A
Study type: Observational

The overall purpose of this study is to evaluate how effective Thromboelastography (TEG) is on identifying ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke patients at increased risk for bleeding after receiving tissue plasminogen activator (tPA), as well as on differentiating between patients in whom optimal thrombolysis has been achieved, and those whom it has not.

NCT ID: NCT00751634 Completed - Fever Clinical Trials

Temperature Control in Central Fever in the Neuro-ICU

Start date: January 2009
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

There are few treatments for central fever (fever that is due to the central nervous system, as opposed to an infectious source). We hypothesize that an externally applied cooling blanket will reduce temperature in neurologically ill patients with central fever.
