Filter by:An open-label phase 1 study to assess safety and efficacy of once-weekly STA-9090 (ganetespib) in subjects with AML, ALL and blast-phase CML.
This phase II trial is studying how well giving treosulfan together with fludarabine phosphate and total-body irradiation followed by donor stem cell transplant works in treating patients with high-risk acute myeloid leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Giving chemotherapy, such as treosulfan and fludarabine phosphate, and total-body irradiation before a donor bone marrow or peripheral blood stem cell transplant helps stop the growth of cancer cells. It may also stop the patient's immune system from rejecting the donor's stem cells. The donated stem cells may replace the patient's immune cells and help destroy any remaining cancer cells (graft-versus-tumor effect). Sometimes the transplanted cells from a donor can also make an immune response against the body's normal cells. Giving tacrolimus and methotrexate before and after transplant may stop this from happening
RATIONALE: Dasatinib and vorinostat may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving dasatinib together with vorinostat may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of dasatinib when given together with vorinostat in treating patients with accelerated phase or blastic phase chronic myelogenous leukemia or acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
RATIONALE: A personalized Internet-based program may help improve fatigue, depression, and quality of life in long-term survivors of stem cell transplant. It is not yet known whether an Internet-based program is more effective with or without telephone-based problem-solving training. PURPOSE: This randomized clinical trial is studying how well an Internet-based program works with or without telephone-based problem-solving training in helping long-term survivors of hematopoietic stem cell transplant cope with late complications
RATIONALE: Ondansetron may help lessen or prevent nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing stem cell transplant. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well ondansetron works in preventing nausea and vomiting in patients undergoing stem cell transplant.
Maintain and monitor long-term hematological and cytogenetic responses previously obtained by patients participating in the [CAMN107A2109] study
Patients not previously exposed to imatinib and with resistant or refractory Ph+ ALL, lymphoid blast crisis chronic myelogenous leukaemia (LBC CML) or with de novo Ph+ ALL and aged over 55y were eligible in the study. The DIV regimen consisted in one IV injection of vincristine 2 mg combined with 2 days of dexamethasone 40 mg PO repeated weekly for 4 weeks as induction and then monthly for 4 months as consolidation. Imatinib was administered at 800 mg per day during the induction period and at 600 mg/d continuously during consolidation. Patients in CR not eligible for HSCT were allocated to maintenance therapy consisting in weekly SC injection of Pegasys 45 µg and continuous administration of imatinib 400 mg per day for 2 years.
This phase I/II trial is studying the side effects and best way to give nilotinib when given together with imatinib mesylate after donor stem cell transplant in treating patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia or chronic myelogenous leukemia. Nilotinib and imatinib mesylate may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.
The purpose of this study is to provide allogeneic stem cell transplantation to patients who have not traditionally undergone this procedure because of it high incidence of treatment related side effects. We hope to decrease these side effects by decreasing the chemotherapy dose prior to transplant (non-myeloablative, smaller dose of chemotherapy given so bone marrow is not completely eliminated) and by using donated stem cells to treat cancer of the blood.
