Filter by:Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune and inflammatory disease. The pathogenesis of SLE results from interactions between genes, hormones, and the environment; however, the exact etiology is unknown. SLE can affect many organs and systems, including the musculoskeletal, hematological, renal, neuropsychiatric, cardiovascular and pulmonary systems, and skin. Non-specific general complaints such as malaise, fatigue, arthralgia, anxiety, depression, fever, and weight loss are evident at the onset of the disease and during the activation periods. Patients experience hopelessness due to the complexity of the symptoms and the chronic and progressive nature of the disease, and they experience deterioration in their quality of life due to the interaction of anxiety and depression findings with other symptoms. SLE is a difficult disease to manage because of the different organ and system involvement processes. In addition, these symptoms of the disease and the nature of chronic pain, including central sensitization, cause it to accompany a process that is affected by the mood of the person. Some patients present to a rheumatologist with mild symptoms, while others may present with severe, life-threatening symptoms. The onset of the disease before the age of 18 is defined as childhood onset (juvenile). Childhood-onset SLE accounts for approximately 1/5 of SLE patients. It is known that the main mechanism in the formation of the disease is the production of more than one autoantibody. Although childhood SLE (jSLE) appears to be basically the same disease with similar etiology, pathogenesis, and laboratory findings as in adults, there are differences in the frequency and severity of clinical manifestations. In this respect, the clearest finding is that children with SLE have greater disease severity and earlier disease-related organ damage than adults with SLE. Studies on the disease show that patients with jSLE have not only physical but also cognitive effects. The aim of our study is to examine the effects of exercises applied with a dual-task approach on patients' physical and cognitive status in jSLE cases.
The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and tolerability of CUG252 following multiple ascending doses in participants with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE).
This is an experimental medicine, single-centre, observational test-retest study to evaluate Filgotinib's mechanism of analgesic action in RA patients. The investigators hypothesize that Filgotinib's mechanism of analgesic action is determined by at least two factors. The first is related to those CNS sensitization pathways seen in fibromyalgia, specifically DMN-insula brain functional connectivity and insular glutamate. The second is related to peripheral inflammation, specifically joint synovitis, blood cytokines/chemokines and DAN-LIPL functional brain connectivity. The CNS sensitization pain pathways related to fibromyalgia are more quickly modified compared to those related to peripheral inflammation and help explain Filgotinib's rapid onset of effect.
A randomized clinical trial that treats vitiligo patients with oral vitamin D and Narrow-Band Ultraviolet B (NB-UVB) phototherapy (intervention group); or placebo and NB-UVB phototherapy (control group). We will evaluate if the group supplemented with vitamin D achieves a higher repigmentation rate than the control group, proving the relevance of vitamin D as an immunomodulator in the pathophysiology of vitiligo. These findings may support the use of vitamin D as an economic, safe, and adjuvant treatment for vitiligo.

Purpose of study is to determine safety and efficacy of use of autologous Adipose-Derived cellular Stromal Vascular Fraction (AD-cSVF) suspended in Normal Saline and delivered via intravascular system of quality of life and alteration of documented Advanced Muscular Sclerosis (MS). It is believed that the heterogeneous cell population which includes multipotent stem/stromal cells plus non-multipotent cellular elements are capable of immune modulation/inflammatory modulation properties. Exam of disease progression and quality of life changes will be evaluated by sophisticated mathematical non-biased MRI analysis.

This randomized double blind clinical trial performed on 68 patients (32 in intervention and 36 in control group) diagnosed with SLE. The patients in intervention group were given daily dose of 1000mg of aqueous green tea extract (of 6 gram of dried green tea leaf) in form of two capsules ( 500 mg). Also in control group, the patients were given daily dose of 1000mg of cellulose in form of two capsules ( 500 mg) Variables include SLE disease activity, some biomarkers of inflammation and oxidative stress and anthropometric indicators at baseline and end of the study. The investigators used SLEDAI (systemic lupus erythematous disease activity index ) questionnaire for evaluating the clinical signs of the disease. The questionnaires filled out at baseline and after 3 month.
