NCT ID: NCT05901298 Recruiting - Self Efficacy Clinical Trials

Development of 'My Breastfeeding Guide' Mobile Nursing Application

Nursing
Start date: May 15, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The research was planned to develop the "My Breastfeeding Guide" mobile nursing application, which was developed based on Dennis' Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Theory and Pender's Health Promotion Model, and to determine its effect on the postpartum breastfeeding process, breastfeeding self-efficacy, infant feeding and attachment. The research is in randomized controlled experimental and longitudinal (prospective) design. The research will be carried out with pregnant women who applied to Famagusta State Hospital Obstetrics and Gynecology Polyclinic and a pregnant polyclinic of a private hospital in Famagusta. Pregnant women who applied to Famagusta State Hospital Gynecology and Obstetrics Polyclinic and private hospital's pregnancy polyclinic and met the inclusion criteria of the study will constitute the population of the research. The research will be designed in two groups as the mobile nursing practice group (intervention) and standard care group (control) developed based on Dennis's Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Theory and Pender's Health Promotion Model. By calculating the sample size in the research, 44 people in the intervention group and 44 people in the control group will reach a total of 88 people. Pregnant Identification Form, Maternal Information Form, Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Short Form Scale (Postnatal Form), Antenatal Self-Efficacy Short Form Scale, Infant Nutrition Attitude Scale, Breastfeeding Rating Scale, Maternal Attachment Scale and Breastfeeding Self-assessment Form will be used to collect data. Statistical analyzes of the data obtained from the research will be made using the Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS) 20.0 package program. While evaluating the research data, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, median, variance analysis from descriptive statistical methods will be used. For homogeneity test between intervention and control groups, the Chi-square test for categorical variables, Mann Whitney test for numerical variables, and sociodemographic variables (age, education status, employment status of himself and his spouse, income level, etc.) and whether the groups are similar in terms of some characteristics. U test will be used. The conformity of the scale scores to the normal distribution will be evaluated with the Shapiro-Wilk test. The results will be evaluated at the 95% confidence level, and the significance at the p<0.05 level.

NCT ID: NCT05739708 Recruiting - Asthma Clinical Trials

Psychological Characteristics of Patients With Severe Asthma

CATAPLASTHMA
Start date: February 15, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Like any chronic disease, asthma exposes individuals to stressful and threatening situations that require ongoing cognitive, emotional, behavioral and social adaptation. Approximately 5-10% of patients with asthma have a treatment-resistant disease, with frequent emergency room visits and hospitalizations. These patients are responsible for the majority of the overall asthma-related disease burden and also represent more than half of the total direct costs of asthma management. The scientific literature shows that personality traits, attachment type and psychological disorders will significantly influence disease coping strategies, disease experience, quality of life, adherence and therapeutic alliance. Although some data exist in asthma, there are currently no studies that have evaluated the overall psychological profile of asthma patients, and we have no data specifically on the population of severe asthmatics, who are the most difficult to manage. A better understanding of the overall psychological dimension of asthma patients will make it possible to offer therapeutic education programs that are more targeted according to the psychosocial skills of the patient and finally improve the overall management of the disease.

NCT ID: NCT05402787 Not yet recruiting - Satisfaction Clinical Trials

Impact of Virtual Visit on Mothers' Attachment and Satisfaction

Virtualvisit
Start date: June 20, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Virtual visit, which is frequently used in the field of health in line with the latest technological developments, is accepted as a unique opportunity that allows babies and their families to connect in real time. Studies have reported that virtual visits increase mothers' sense of closeness to their babies and have positive effects on the attachment process (Dunham and Marin 2020; Flacking et al. 2014; Joshi et al. 2016). It is clearly emphasized that healthy and securely attached babies have positive effects on health. This study was designed as a randomized controlled experimental study in order to determine the effect of virtual visit applied to mothers whose babies are in the neonatal intensive care unit on their attachment and satisfaction. Research Hypotheses: H0: There is no difference between the attachment and satisfaction of mothers whose babies were hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit, and those who did not receive virtual visits. H1: Attachment and satisfaction of mothers whose babies are hospitalized in the neonatal intensive care unit with virtual visits are higher than mothers who do not receive virtual visits.

NCT ID: NCT05302700 Completed - Attachment Clinical Trials

Effectiveness of Early Parental Sensitivity Intervention for Preterm Infant Mothers

Start date: November 2, 2022
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

In Taiwan, according to the birth notification statistics of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. 164,496 newborns were born in 2020, with preterm births accounting for about 11.58%.Most preterm infants need to be hospitalized for highly specialized care, resulting in the separation of preterm infants from their parents after birth, which may have a negative impact on the healthy attachment development between parents and preterm infants. Moreover, due to the vulnerability of preterm infants, parents often lack the confidence to take care of them.

NCT ID: NCT05302427 Completed - Growth Clinical Trials

Infant Massage and Infant Growth, Mother-Infant Attachment, and Maternal Self-Confidence

Start date: November 29, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Touch is an essential element in the healthy growth and development of the baby. Infant massage is the best way to touch babies. In line with the literature review on the subject, it has been reported that infant massage supports growth and development in infants, improves attachment between mothers and babies and decreases the level of depression and anxiety in mothers. With the coronavirus pandemic, quarantine decisions have been implemented all over the world. In addition to the stress brought on by their new roles, new mothers have to cope with the anxiety and stress of being a parent and babysitting during the pandemic period. During the pandemic process, it is seen that depression and anxiety levels increase in mothers who have given birth, and maternal attachment is negatively affected. Depression and anxiety in mothers negatively affect the cognitive, physical, social and emotional development of babies. It is very important to encourage practices that increase mother-infant interaction, such as infant massage, during the pandemic period. The universe of the research will consist of mothers and their babies who were followed up in İzmir Karşıyaka No. 8 Gülay Kaymak Family Health Center and Karşıyaka No. 4 Bostanlı-2 Family Health Center between May 2021 and May 2022. The sample of the study is 38-42. It is planned to create babies born in the 4th week of pregnancy, with a birth weight of over 2500 grams and who have completed their fourth week (one month old) (n:60).
