Filter by:This study is an interventional type three-group randomized controlled non-drug clinical trial aimed at targeting the acute pain content and anxiety level of aromatherapy arm treatment with a sesame oil and sesame lavender oil mixture performed with Simple Mastectomy (BM) / Modified Radical Mastectomy (MRM). It constitutes a total of 66 patients with the power to represent the universe. However, considering the losses that may occur during the study process, it was decided that it would be appropriate to include 90 patients, 36% more than the sample. Individuals receiving arm massage with sesame oil (Group I), individuals performing arm massage with sesame-lavender oil mixture (Group II), and individuals performing arm massage with paraffin oil (Group III) constitute the research groups. After obtaining the informed written consent of the participants who agreed to participate in the study, the randomization list created from the computer-based random numbers table will be used with the block randomization method to assign an equal number of people to all three groups. In the preoperative period, patients will be given an allergic sensitivity (patch) test of the oils to be used in the study to Groups 1 and 2, massage training will be given to all groups with the show-and-have method in the pre-operative period, a massage application brochure and video will be given, and information will be given on how to fill out the follow-up forms. This study was conducted as a randomized controlled experimental study.To evaluate the effects of aromatherapy, one of the non-pharmacological pain methods, on labor pain and anxiety in the active phase in primiparous pregnant women. The main questions it aims to answer are: Is ylang ylang oil applied as an inhaler effective in reducing labor pain and anxiety? Is lemon oil applied as an inhaler effective in reducing labor pain and anxiety? Participants randomized according to the closed envelope method into the lemon oil group (n=15), ylang ylang oil group (n=15) and control group (n=15). In the active phase (cervical dilatation ≥5), a drop of essential oil was instilled onto square cotton balls to the intervention groups and renewed as one drop every hour until labor occurred. In the control group, 1 drop of saline was dripped onto square cotton balls. Visual pain scale (VAS) and state anxiety ınventory were applied to the intervention groups and control groups before the application. After the application, VAS and state anxiety ınventory were evaluated at 5-7 cm dilatation, and only with VAS at 8-10 cm dilatation. The trait anxiety ınventory was administered to the volunteers after birth.

Aromatherapy is the science of using high concentrated essential oils or essences with distilled high concentration of plants to take advantage of therapeutic properties '' . The aromatherapine is a noninvasive process and the convenience of use allows the widespread use of aromatherapy. Aromatic oils can be applied in four basic ways. Volatile oils that can be applied in various means can reach the neocortex part of the brain directly with the links to the hypothalamus from the limbic system. As a result of the impact of aromatic oils on the central nervous system, relief, sedation or stimulating effects are formed and the energy blockage in the body is broken, due to the information stream reaching the brain with the warning of the central nervous system and the resulting energy is exposed. The improvement process is supported by its exposed energy stream in a balanced way of the relevant organs, and the state of physical and spiritual goodness is emerged. Pain experienced before and after surgery in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy adversely affects physiological parameters and sleep quality. This randomized controlled study was conducted to examine the effects of preoperative and postoperative inhalation lavender and geranium essential oil on patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy on pain, sleep, and physiological parameters. The study was completed with 3 groups and 150 people, namely the geranium oil group (n=50), lavender oil group (n=50) and control group (n=50). The ethics committee approval, informed consent of the individuals and the institutional permission were obtained. In the study, data were collected using the patient identification form, Richard-Campbell Sleep Scale and visual analog scale. Chi-square test,repeated measures one-way analysis of variance, and Spearman correlation analysis tests were used to assess the data. In the comparisons, the value of p<0.05 was accepted as significant.
The study will be carried out in Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University İzzet Baysal Training and Research Hospital Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic between January 2022 and February 2023. The population of the study will consist of patients who will undergo coronary artery bypass in a planned heart and meet the inclusion criteria. The sample of the study will consist of patients who meet the inclusion criteria, volunteer to participate in the study, and whose written consent has been obtained. To calculate the sample size of the study; NCSS Pass 11.0 program was used. According to the result calculated in this program, it was seen that a total of 60 people, 30 people in each group, should be reached for two groups and 99% power (α: 0.05). With this study, it is aimed to increase the job satisfaction and quality of nurses as well as to increase the satisfaction of the patients in terms of nursing. By presenting the Complementary Care Model to our country for the first time with this study; In this context, it was planned to determine the effects of music therapy, progressive muscle relaxation exercise, aromatherapy and massage on the outcomes (nausea, vomiting, sleep, anxiety, pain, complications and satisfaction) of coronary artery bypass graft patients.

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of aromatherapy massage on itching, comfort, skin pH level and skin moisture in individuals with liver disease. Research Hypotheses: H1: Aromatherapy massage has an effect on the level of itching in individuals with itchy liver disease. H2: Aromatherapy massage has an effect on the general comfort level in individuals with itchy liver disease, H3: Aromatherapy massage has an effect on skin pH level in individuals with itchy liver disease. H4: Aromatherapy massage has an effect on skin moisture in individuals with itchy liver disease.
