NCT ID: NCT00521976 Completed - Clinical trials for Coronary Artery Disease

Risk Markers in the Acute Coronary Syndromes

RACS
Start date: November 2002
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The main aim of this trial is to assess the long-term prognostic value of different types of Factor XIIa in an unselected, single center series of 871 chest pain patients admitted to the emergency unit, employing blood samples collected at admission. The second purpose of this study is to assess the incremental prognostic value of B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP) and high-sensitive C-reactive protein (hsCRP). A third purpose of this study is to evaluate the prognostic impact of the Omega-3 Index which is a measure of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) relative to other fatty acids in the erythrocyte membrane.

NCT ID: NCT00500617 Completed - Clinical trials for Coronary Artery Disease

Personalized Risk Evaluation and Diagnosis (Using Corus CAD or ASGES) in the Coronary Tree

PREDICT
Start date: July 2007
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The PREDICT study is to develop and validate a diagnostic blood ASGES (age, sex, gene expression score) or Corus CAD for atherosclerotic coronary artery disease (CAD). The Corus CAD (Age/Sex/Gene Expression score - ASGES) will use quantitative real-time PCR (RT-PCR) to quantify the expression of multiple genes from circulating peripheral blood cells to assess the presence of clinically significant CAD in a patient.

NCT ID: NCT00479908 Completed - Angina Pectoris Clinical Trials

Blood Pressure Interaction Between Sildenafil and Sublingual Glyceryl Trinitrate (GTN) in Men With Angina

Start date: January 2004
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of the study is to determine for how long sildenafil potentiates the blood pressure reduction that occurs with glyceryl trinitrate in men with angina.

NCT ID: NCT00462774 Completed - Clinical trials for Congestive Heart Failure

Bypass Surgery and CD133 Marrow Cell Injection for Treatment of Ischemic Heart Failure

Cardio133
Start date: April 2007
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Cell transplantation for treatment of heart failure is a novel field of translational research that offers the perspective of developing curative approaches by regenerating or "rejuvenating" lost and/or diseased myocardium and inducing growth of new blood vessels. Based on the safety and preliminary efficacy testing in previous trials, a stringent efficacy testing will be performed in this study. Sixty patients who had myocardial infarction in the past and now need bypass surgery for ongoing coronary artery disease will undergo either bypass surgery and placebo treatment or bypass surgery and injection of CD133 bone marrow cells directly in the heart muscle. The study will be fully blinded, i.e. neither the patient nor the surgeon knows what substance is injected (placebo or cell product). Patients will be followed for 6 months and various heart function measurements will be performed.

NCT ID: NCT00411359 Completed - Coronary Disease Clinical Trials

Cardiac Rehabilitation for the Treatment of Refractory Angina

Start date: December 2006
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether cardiac rehabilitation is a successful treatment for refractory angina, in relation to improvements in cardiovascular risk factors, physical ability, symptomology, quality of life and psychological morbidity.

NCT ID: NCT00388934 Completed - Clinical trials for Coronary Artery Disease

Comparison of Cypher Select and Taxus Express Coronary Stents

SORT-OUTII
Start date: August 2004
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

Randomized nine months clinical comparison of implantation of Taxol eluting (Taxus Express) and Sirolimus eluting (Cypher Select) stents in non-selected patients with coronary artery disease.

NCT ID: NCT00352014 Completed - Clinical trials for Stable Angina Pectoris

Evaluation and Comparison of Several Point-of-care Platelet Function Tests in Predicting Clinical Outcomes in Clopidogrel Pre-treated Patients Undergoing Elective PCI.

Start date: January 2006
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether the level of Platelet Inhibition as assessed with five point-of-care platelet function assays correlates with clinical (periprocedural) outcomes such as Acute Myocardial Infarction, death, Target Vessel revascularization and/or stroke in patients undergoing elective PCI.

NCT ID: NCT00346437 Completed - Angina Pectoris Clinical Trials

Efficacy and Safety of Intracoronary Ad5FGF-4 in Patients With Stable Angina (AGENT-3)

Start date: October 2001
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to determine whether a single intracoronary infusion of Ad5FGF-4 is effective in improving exercise capacity measured by exercise treadmill testing, angina functional class, patient symptoms, quality of life, and cardiovascular outcomes. Two doses will be studied, 2.87 x 10(8) and 2.87 x 10(9) viral particles, to evaluate the dose-response of Ad5FGF-4. Short-term and long-term safety of Ad5FGF-4 will also be evaluated.

NCT ID: NCT00330928 Completed - Clinical trials for Myocardial Infarction

SPECTACL: SPECTroscopic Assessment of Coronary Lipid

SPECTACL
Start date: January 2006
Phase: Phase 2/Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate a near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy system that has been designed to identify the chemical composition of coronary artery plaques in patients undergoing a percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

NCT ID: NCT00317512 Completed - Clinical trials for Myocardial Infarction

Pilot Study of Hemoglobin Based Oxygen Therapeutics in Elective Coronary Revascularization

Start date: December 2003
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety and feasibility of a novel oxygen carrying solution, HBOC-201, in the setting of PCI for Acute Coronary Syndromes from randomization til hospital discharge.
