Parent training programs in groups and over internet can help parents improve their interaction and communication with their children. There is however a lack knowledge of how programs work for parents of teenagers, as most studies have concerned younger children. Furthermore, most studies have been conducted on programs for selective populations with elevated risk. The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of two universal preventive parenting programs for teenagers: The group-based program 'ABC-teen' and the online-based 'ParentWeb'. Both programs aim to strengthen the parent-adolescent relationship and reduce negative communication. The programs are developed in Sweden with content based on other established parenting programs (e.g., Comet, Incredible Years, the Triple P). The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effects of the the two programs, with adolescent mental health as primary outcome. Several secondary outcome measures concerning parenting and parent-adolescent relationship were also collected. Parents were randomized to ABC-teen, ParentWeb or a 6 months Wait-List control. Parent- and adolescent ratings were collected at baseline, after 4 and after 12 months. All data collection has now been completed and the next step is to process and analyze the data.
This study aims to contribute to the evidence base related to effective interventions for families in low-resource settings who are experiencing conflict and difficulties in relationships that affect child and caregiver well being alike. Results of this study will (a) inform whether a family therapy approach is feasible and promising in communities in and surrounding Kisumu, Kenya and (b) inform how family wellbeing and mental health can be integrated within the sexual reproductive health service points through culturally-valid ways in this context. Main Objective: To pilot test the implementation of a family therapy intervention (Tuko Pamoja) in collaboration with two sexual and reproductive healthcare settings in Kisumu, Kenya. Specific Objective: To pilot test the Tuko Pamoja family therapy intervention to assess feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary effectiveness.
The use of mobile applications to promote the practice of physical activity has begun to be used in the adolescent population in recent years. This has made it possible to carry out interventions inside and outside the educational setting, the latter being the ones that have brought the greatest benefits. Thus, it has been observed that the promotion of the use of mobile applications in out-of-school hours from the subject of physical education has reported significant benefits on body composition and fitness in the adolescent population. However, there is no known research that has analyzed whether the effect achieved with mobile applications when their use is mandatory disappears when they are no longer promoted from the physical education subject. Therefore, this project goes further and tries to find out whether after the ten-week period of mandatory use of the applications, adolescents continue to use the applications autonomously and the beneficial effects achieved are maintained or disappear due to the lack of use. For this purpose, a 10-week intervention was planned in which the adolescents used the mobile applications. Prior to the start of the intervention, the adolescents' body composition and fitness (pre) were measured. At the end of the intervention of mandatory use of the mobile applications, the adolescents were measured again (post). And after the post measurement, the adolescents were left for 10 weeks during which they could use the applications autonomously. A third measurement of the adolescents was performed after this 10-week period (post 2). The aim of this project was to find out the effects of stopping the use of the mobile fitness apps on body composition and fitness of the adolescents.

These concerns extend to their impact on interpersonal relationships and mental well-being. The Zep Foundation's World Digital Detox Program to address the challenges posed by excessive screen exposure, social media usage, and digital screen dependency. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of the digital detox family intervention, endorsed by the World Digital Detox Day program, in curbing the use of digital devices-specifically smartphones and social media-and enhancing the overall well-being of youth and families.
The goal of this observational study is to develop a questionnaire to assess a child's concept of pain and to evaluate its psychometric properties in schoolchildren aged 8-17 years. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - Validate to Spanish language the Conceptualization of Pain Questionnaire to assess a child's concept of pain. - Conduct an analysis to evaluate its psychometric properties. Participants will respond a questionnaire of 15 items and asks respondents to respond if they believe the items/statements to be true or false, although they are allowed to respond undecided.
The aim of this study is to adapt the Parenting for Lifelong Health for Parents and Teens (PLH) with the Helping Adolescents Thrive Comics in North Macedonia and the Republic of Moldova and conduct a pilot feasibility study of the adapted version. The program will be delivered by ALTERNATIVA in North Macedonia and Health for Youth Association in the Republic of Moldova. The intervention and training materials will be adapted for the local context and languages (Romanian, Macedonian, and Russian). Facilitators and coaches will be trained to deliver the intervention in the fall of 2023. A pre-post pilot study will be conducted testing the feasibility of the program and the assessment measures with caregivers (30 per country) and their 10-14-year-old children (30 per country). This includes examination of outcomes related to implementation fidelity, program acceptability, and preliminary program effectiveness in improving teens' behavioral and emotional problems. This feasibility study is part of a larger implementation science project using the MOST framework (Multiphase Optimization Strategy). This specific protocol is for the preparation phase of MOST (Phase 1). There are two more phases of MOST that will follow: the optimization phase (Phase 2) and the evaluation phase (Phase 3). The results of Phase 1 will be used to inform any changes to the intervention and assessment measures that may be necessary before testing the intervention in Phase 2, which will involve a randomized factorial trial.
The aim of this study is to look at outcomes related to diet and nutrition, mindfulness, and cooking skills amongst middle school students who participated in a 12-week 4-H after school program called the Advanced Cooking Education Program.
The general purpose of this project; "Physical Activity and Recreation School" for the evaluation of physical activity behaviors of individuals with physical disabilities between the ages of 6-18, to increase the level of knowledge and awareness of these individuals and their parents, and to enable individuals with special needs to experience sports activities in the company of health and sports professionals who are experts in their fields. is to arrange. This project consists of three main topics as evaluation, training and experimentation. During the evaluation phase, interactive roundtable activity, valid and reliable scales and physical assessments, and barriers and motivators for physical activity participation of individuals with special needs will be evaluated. A comprehensive interactive training seminar on physical activity will be held for individuals with special needs and parents during the training phase. In the experimentation phase, children and adolescents with special needs will participate in training programs that include exercise and sportive activities suitable for the determined physical activity barriers and motivators, and will have the opportunity to experience exercises and sportive activities that they have not experienced before. The results of this project will provide gains in the analysis and application of physical inactivity, which is seen as an important public health problem in our country, for individuals with special needs, and will also guide many relevant institutions, health professionals and educators.
This is a study protocol to test the feasibility of a digital intervention aiming to increase physical activity in overweight and obese adolescents. This study will be conducted in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. The intervention will be provided in two public schools. Another two public schools, which will be matched on the basis of similar socioeconomic background of attending students and curriculum structure, will act as control group. Additional schools may be recruited to fulfil required sample size. A digital behaviour change intervention (FIT-TEENS) will be delivered to overweight and obese adolescents (aged 13-18 years) using an online learning platform (EdApp) over 10 weeks to provide information on physical activity and the behaviour change aspects towards physical activity. The participants who received the intervention will be compared with the control group, where no intervention will be delivered, who will be requested to continue their usual physical activities. To determine the feasibility of the intervention, the researchers will obtain views and overall satisfaction from participants on the intervention and trial, and determine the proportion of participants who completed all intervention modules and outcome measures. In addition to feasibility measures, participants' physical activity behaviour, self-efficacy and social support, as well as body weight and composition will be compared between the two groups. This study will establish whether FIT-TEENS intervention is feasible and acceptable to overweight and obese adolescents in increasing their physical activity behaviour.
