Filter by:With functional imaging development, it becomes possible to increase radiation dose to radioresistant areas (located inside tumor volume) using radiotherapy dose-painting. This strategy is particularly suitable for prostate cancer where tumor hypoxia plays a major role in the resistance of these tumors to radiation. In order to develop intratumoral hypoxia targeting by radiotherapy dose-painting areas, we should characterize changes in hypoxia before treatment and during radiotherapy. - If hypoxia does not change during radiotherapy, radiotherapy dose-painting strategy by an "integrated" boost is performed. - If hypoxia varied (increasing or incomplete regression), a "final" boost strategy of radiotherapy dose-painting(IMRT, stereotactic brachytherapy or high dose rate) after a first fractionated IMRT could be considered. This study should show that PET imaging with fluoromisonidazole (18F-MISO) is an available tool to physicians in assessing tumor hypoxia.
This phase II trial studies how well combination chemotherapy, gemcitabine hydrochloride, and radiation therapy before surgery works in treating patients with pancreatic cancer that has not spread to other places in the body and can be removed by surgery. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as fluorouracil, leucovorin calcium, irinotecan hydrochloride, oxaliplatin, and gemcitabine hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Fluorouracil, irinotecan hydrochloride, and gemcitabine hydrochloride may also stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving combination chemotherapy and gemcitabine hydrochloride with radiation therapy before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed.
This is a Phase I safety and feasibility study. Subjects will be enrolled serially. For subject safety, the preceding subject must have completed one cycle of therapy (28 days) before the next subject can be treated. Subjects will be treated with i.v. administration of 1 to 3e8 per meter squared RNA CAR T cells three times weekly (M-W-F) for three weeks.
This study will enroll patients who have metastatic pancreatic cancer with stable disease on FOLFIRINOX chemotherapy. The main purpose of this study is to compare survival between patients that receive ipilimumab and a pancreatic tumor vaccine and patients who continue to receive FOLFIRINOX. This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of gemcitabine hydrochloride in treating patients with locally advanced pancreatic cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing.
This innovative study will involve the use of probe-based confocal laser endomicroscopy, a new medical imaging technology never used for surgical indications to date. Virtual biopsies (pCLE images) will be compared to histopathology analysis. This study focuses on the evaluation of rectal tumor margins. The hypothesis is that pCLE will allow identification of rectal tumor margin, comparable to that of histopathology. In the future, decision of resection margin could rely on intraoperative pCLE exam. The proposed study is a feasibility study, first in the indication of rectal cancer.
A prospective, opened, multicentric, randomised, phase III trial with two arms: - Arm A: curative gastrectomy with D1-D2 lymph node dissection + HIPEC with oxaliplatin - Arm B: curative gastrectomy with D1-D2 lymph node dissection Main objective: Compare overall 5-year survival rates in patients surgically treated for advanced gastric adenocarcinoma (T3, T4 and/or N+ and/or with positive peritoneal cytology), treated either with curative gastrectomy and adjuvant HIPEC, or with curative gastrectomy alone.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether cryotherapy is effective in the treatment of persistent high grade dysplasia (HGD) or early esophageal adenocarcinoma (IMCA) in patients who have not responded to radiofrequency ablation (RFA).
1. Target population:locally advanced gastric adenocarcinoma (LAGC, cT2~3/N+M0,or cT4aN+M0);no previous chemo or radio therapy. 2. Primary objective:Response rate of XELOX in the neoadjuvant setting of LAGC. Secondary objectives: - The progression free survival (PFS) in the perioperative treatment of locally advanced gastric adenocarcinoma (cT3/N+M0,or cT4aN+M0); - percentage of pathological response ; percentage of grade 3 or 4 adverse events as safety profile of perioperative treatments; - D2 resection -rate after neoadjuvant chemotherapy of XELOX; - Overall survival; - QOL during the whole period of treatment. 3. Trial design:This is a multicenter, single arm, open-label, phase II study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Oxaliplatin plus capecitabine(XELOX) in the perioperative treatment of locally advanced gastric adenocarcinoma in combination with D2 resection. 4. Treatment plan:Patients will be given the perioperative chemotherapy as below once recruited:Schedule of Oxaliplatin plus capecitabine (XELOX) will be as follow: Capecitabine 1000 mg/m2 ,bid,d 1~14 every 3 weeks(treatment for 2 weeks and rest 1 week)Oxaliplatin:130mg/m2, iv infusion over 2h,d1,every 3 weeks. 5. Number of subjects:50 patients.Number of centers 5 sites, which have the high volume of gastric operations in China, more than 500 per year.
The goal of the POUDER trial is to determine the feasibility of a randomized controlled trial regarding the application of freeze-dried broccoli sprouts rich in sulforaphane and quercetin in patients with advanced pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma that receive palliative chemotherapy.
