Filter by:224 adults with diabetic foot ulcers will be randomized to either magainin peptide (MSI-78) or ofloxacin (FLOXIN, Ortho-McNeil Pharmaceutical Corporation) an oral fluoroquinolone antibiotic.
The study purpose is to compare healing rates, cost effectiveness, quality of life and safety of 12 week compression therapy for the treatment of venous leg ulcers with the 3M™ Coban™ 2 Layer Compression System versus short-stretch compression bandage.
The primary objective of the study was to compare the percentage of subjects in remission after 8 weeks of treatment with SPD476, 2.4 g/day once daily vs placebo and SPD476 4.8 g/day once daily versus placebo
Evaluate the percentage of subjects in remission at the end of an 8-week treatment period for three dose groups (SPD476 1.2 g/day, 2.4 g/day or 4.8 g/day, administered once daily).

The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy of esomeprazole (D961H) 20 mg versus placebo once daily for up to 24 weeks of treatment involving patients with a history of gastric and/or duodenal ulcers receiving daily nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) therapy by evaluating presence or absence of gastric and/or duodenal ulcers throughout the treatment period (24 weeks) in terms of efficacy on prevention of gastric and/or duodenal ulcers
PHASE: IV TYPE OF STUDY: With direct benefit. DESCRIPTIVE: Multicenter, randomized, open label study. INCLUSION CRITERIA: Steroid-refractory ulcerative colitis. OBJECTIVES: To compare the efficacy of cyclosporine with infliximab in steroid- refractory attacks of ulcerative colitis. STUDY TREATMENTS:Cyclosporine 2mg/kg/day intravenous(IV)for 7days then Neoral 4mg/kg/day orally for 3 months. Infliximab 5mg/kg at Weeks 0, 2 and 6. NUMBER OF PATIENTS: 50 patients in each group i.e. a total of 100 patients. INCLUSION PERIOD: 24 months. STUDY DURATION: 27 months. MAIN EVALUATION CRITERIA: Clinical response at D7 according to the Lichtiger Index score AND Clinical Remission at D98 according to the Mayo Disease Activity Index score SECONDARY EVALUATION CRITERIA: Clinical remission at D98 (according to the Mayo Disease Activity Index score) Endoscopic response Colectomy rate Tolerance

Although all PPIs are effective, there are some differences in their clinical performance, particularly in terms of the degree and speed of gastric acid suppression. Few data are also available about their effect of the pathophysiological mechanisms of gastritis and peptic ulcer disease. Aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of therapy with esomeprazole or rabeprazole on the mechanism of pathogenesis of gastritis and particularly on the pattern of release of pro- and anti- inflammatory cytokines associated to peptic ulcerative process by the gastric mucosa.
This study uses a randomized, double-blind, controlled design to demonstrate that PN400 (esomeprazole and naproxen) is more effective in reducing the occurrence of gastroduodenal ulcers, dyspepsia, and heartburn in subjects at risk for developing NSAID-associated gastric ulcers compared to naproxen alone.
