Filter by:Recently, endoscopic thyroidectomy using gasless unilateral transaxillary approach has been proven feasible and safe in several Chinese medical centers. This study is aimed to compare multi-institutional Chinese outcomes of endoscopic thyroidectomy using gasless unilateral transaxillary approach and conventional open surgery.
Fallopian tubes participate in the incorporation of gametes and embryos into the endometrial cavity. It also provides an optimal environment for flattening and early embryonic development. Tubal pathologies can cause both primary and secondary infertility. This condition has been associated with overt and subclinical hypothyroidism. However, the effects of hypothyroidism on tubal activity are not fully known. Although a few animal experiment studies on this subject have been published, there is no study on this subject in the literature. Demonstrating that epithelial and smooth muscle cells of rat fallopian tubes express thyroid receptors in animal experiments showed that fallopian tubes are targets for thyroid hormones. Again, in an animal experiment study, it was revealed that thyroid hormones have an important control on glycogen and lipid storage, lipid signaling and lymphocyte infiltration, which have an important role in maintaining the microenvironment in the rat fallopian tubes. This microenvironment is necessary for fertilization, sperm capacitation and gamete development. In another animal experimental study, it was thought that changes in the size of the epithelium of the fallopian tubes and cell metabolism in hypothyroid rabbits may affect oviductal activity and reproductive functions. An ectopic pregnancy is defined as a pregnancy implanted outside of the uterus. Ectopic pregnancy >98% implants in the fallopian tube. The etiology of ectopic pregnancy is unclear, but tubal implantation is probably due to impaired embryo-tubal transport. This is due to changes in the tubal environment. Based on this information, we aim to determine the possible relationship between hypothyroidism and ectopic pregnancy in humans in our study.
The aim of this study is to compare the bispectral index (BIS) and patient state index (PSI) during general anesthesia using remimazolam. The infusion rate of remimazolam is 6-12mg/kg/h during induction of anesthesia and 1-2mg/kg/h during maintenance of anesthesia. To calculate the fraction, the sum of times when BIS<60 and PSI <50 will be divided by the time from the loss of consciousness during induction of anesthesia to fully awake during emergence. We will compare the fraction of BIS <60 and the fraction of PSI <50 to find if there is some difference between the two depth of anesthesia monitoring devices during remimazolam anesthesia.
DBS (Dried blood spot) is the collection of a small volume of blood on paper cards and subsequent transport to an analytical laboratory. This method is widely used for newborn screening programs around the world to identify inborn errors of metabolism where early diagnosis and treatment can be lifesaving. The World Health Organization and World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) have independently endorsed DBS as an alternative to conventional testing methods due to its lessened invasiveness, lower collection and transport cost, reduction in sample storage needs, and for some analytes, improved sample stability. There are hundreds of publications describing DBS testing and some commercial ventures offering direct-to-consumer testing using DBS. However, it is not clear if there have been concerted efforts to develop DBS sampling for adults for home collection in concert with high quality, accredited central clinical laboratories. The proposal herein is focused on developing and validating DBS for at home and remote sample collections for routine diagnostic testing.
The study objective is to investigate the efficacy and safety of periocular injections of methotrexate in management of patients with active moderate to severe thyroid associated orbitopathy in comparison to periocular injections of triamcinolone acetonide.
Indeterminate thyroid nodules have a mild risk of malignancy (15-30%). The aim of our study is to individuate new biomarkers of thyroid carcinoma through multiomic analyses of blood samples and of specimen samples of patients with indeterminate thyroid nodules.
The sternothyroid (ST) muscle is closely adherent to the thyroid gland with oblique insertion into the thyroid cartilage. EBSLN passes through the sternothyroid laryngeal triangle with a parallel course deep to the ST muscle. This study evaluates the transection of the sternothyroid muscle as a key step during thyroidectomy to increase the rate of exposure and visual identification of EBSLN compared to ST muscle retraction as a traditional technique.
Prospective study carried out with ICESP (instituto do Câncer do Estado de São Paulo) patients with thyroid disease with surgical indication
Increased fibroblast activation protein expression is positively correlated with the dedifferentiation and aggressiveness of thyroid cancer. Radiolabeled fibroblast activation protein inhibitor therapy, also known as radioligand therapy has become a novel treatment for patients with radioactive iodine refractory thyroid cancer and disease progression after first-line treatment. However, a major problem in the therapeutic use of 177Lu-DOTA-FAPI has been its short half-life and fast rate of clearance. This study was designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and maximum tolerated dose of a long-lasting radiolabeled fibroblast activation protein inhibitor 177Lu-DOTA-EB-FAPI in mRAIR-TC patients with PD after TKIs treatment.
To study the value of thyroid artificial intelligence diagnosis system and fine needle puncture in the diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid nodules, so as to provide evidence-based medical evidence for the diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid nodules by artificial intelligence.
