NCT ID: NCT04320901 Recruiting - Thyroid Cancer Clinical Trials

Energy Device Study in Transoral Endoscopic Thyroidectomy

Start date: April 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Open label randomized controlled study, for Harmonic versus Ligasure in transoral endoscopic thyroid surgery.

NCT ID: NCT04313101 Recruiting - Clinical trials for ICU Acquired Weakness

Association Between Thyroid Dysfunction and Intensive Care Unit Acquired Weaknesss

Start date: February 20, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Intensive care unit-acquired weakness (ICU-AW) is the most common neuromuscular impairment in critically ill patients. It affects more than 50 % of patients in the intensive care and is related to many problems as difficult weaning from mechanical ventilation, prolonged hospital stay and increased mortality.Thyroid disorders are also associated with neuromuscular abnormalities and may decrease the threshold for the development of any type of myopathy. However, no previous study investigated the direct relationship between thyroid dysfunction and ICUAW.This study aims at evaluation of the association between thyroid dysfunction and intensive care unit acquired weakness.

NCT ID: NCT04312087 Recruiting - Thyroid Cancer Clinical Trials

Lateral Neck Lymph Node Mapping in Thyroid Cancer

Start date: August 1, 2016
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

This study includes papillary thyroid cancer patients who have unpalpable lateral neck lymph nodes but suspicious on ultrasound and/or CT. Carbon nanoparticles is used as the tracer for lateral neck lymph node mapping.

NCT ID: NCT04311606 Recruiting - Thyroid Eye Disease Clinical Trials

Anti-VEGF Therapy for Acute Thyroid Eye Disease

AcTED
Start date: November 2, 2020
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The primary objective of this clinical trial is to assess the safety and tolerability of sub-tenon aflibercept in combination with either saline or hyaluronidase (HA) in patients with acute Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) as assessed by the incidence and severity of adverse events from baseline to day 45. Participants will undergo clinical examinations and receive three injections of aflibercept with saline, aflibercept with hyaluronidase, or hyaluronidase.

NCT ID: NCT04288531 Recruiting - Pregnancy Related Clinical Trials

Iodine Impact on Thyroid Function and Psychomotor Development, Observational Study in the Portuguese Minho Region

IodineMinho
Start date: January 10, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Full intellectual capabilities are achieved only if crucial nutrients are present during development. Iodine deficiency is the most common cause of preventable brain harm in infants. Because of its critical need during pregnancy, several countries implemented programs of iodine supplementation in preconception and pregnancy. In 2013, the prevalence of iodine deficiency in Portugal has led health authorities to issue a recommendation for iodine supplementation. This study aims to evaluate the impact of iodine supplementation on maternal and fetal iodine status and thyroid function, obstetric outcomes, quality of breast milk and child psychomotor development. It also intends to evaluate whether the time of iodine supplementation initiation influences all the above-mentioned parameters. The novelty and relevance of this study reside on the number of women/child and on the extent of health parameters that will be evaluated. The information collected will contribute to the detailed characterization of thyroid hormone homeostasis throughout pregnancy and its relationship with iodine supplementation (including time of initiation). The data will provide evidence on whether this iodine supplementation strategy impacted on iodine sufficiency of the mother and the newborns, or if it needs re-evaluation.

NCT ID: NCT04285476 Recruiting - Thyroid Cancer Clinical Trials

Predictive Value of microRNA in Thyroid Cytologies of Undetermined Type

PREDICYTHY
Start date: June 17, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim is to validate a signature of microRNA (micro Ribonucleic acid) based in a first exploratory study allowing the stratification of the cytologies of indeterminate type and to study and select others. In a first step, the teams will focus on standardising the pre-analytical stages and defining a threshold of positivity. The results of microRNA signature on a cohort of 70 patients will be compared with the ultrasound and then histological data of the resection specimen.

NCT ID: NCT04279184 Recruiting - Diabetes Clinical Trials

Urinary Incontinence and Endocrine Factors. A Part of Lolland-Falster Health Study (LOFUS).

EFUI
Start date: January 2016
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Previous studies have shown an increase in the prevalence of urgency and urgency incontinence in women with diabetes. Regarding the condition urinary stress incontinence, the literature is diverted. The purpose of the PhD project is investigate the prevalence of urinary incontinence and the association to diabetes and thyroid disease in a mainly rual population in Lolland and Falster. Further to investigate if there is any difference in the bladder function in incontinent women with and without diabetes. Psychometric validation of the questionnaire used to assess urinary incontinence was also performed.

NCT ID: NCT04248166 Recruiting - Thyroid Cancer Clinical Trials

Thyroid Cancer and Photoacoustic Imaging

Start date: January 1, 2020
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The aim of this study was to evaluate the usefulness of photoacoustic imaging in thyroid nodules. In addition, we would like to confirm the relationship between the results of photoacoustic imaging and histopathologic findings when thyroid nodules were diagnosed as thyroid cancer.

NCT ID: NCT04238624 Recruiting - Thyroid Cancer Clinical Trials

Study of Cemiplimab Combined With Dabrafenib and Trametinib in People With Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer

Start date: January 20, 2020
Phase: Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

This study is being done to see if adding the study drug, cemiplimab, to the standard therapy with dabrafenib and trametinib is an effective treatment against anaplastic thyroid cancer.

NCT ID: NCT04216732 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Stage IV Thyroid Gland Medullary Carcinoma AJCC v8

Natural History of Medullary Thyroid Cancer to Inform Advanced Disease Management

Start date: January 10, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This study utilizes a multi-institutional registry to describe the natural history of medullary thyroid cancer that has spread from where it first started to nearby tissue, lymph nodes, or distant parts of the body (advanced) in understanding disease management. The goal of this study is to learn about how medullary thyroid cancer develops and progresses.
