Study AOP 03-007 was designed as a pivotal study to test, if Anagrelide (Thromboreductin®)was not inferior to HU with respect to efficacy in patients with ET. This approach to demonstrate non-inferiority was based on the following decision points: • ET is a rare disease and recruitment of large patient number (> 1600) to prove superiority was not considered possible. . It was decided to recruit only treatment naïve high risk patients to avoid pre-treatment bias, which further limited the number of patients eligible for the study.
This is a Phase IV study to evaluate eltrombopag concentrations in breast milk of nursing mothers taking marketed eltrombopag (PROMACTA®). Up to 10 subjects (mother-infant pairs) at as many as 10 study centers in the US will be enrolled. Nursing mothers who are registered with the PROMACTA Pregnancy Registry will be offered the option to participate in this trial if they continue to take commercial eltrombopag post-delivery and decide to breastfeed their infant. Information will be collected in a diary. Breast milk samples will be collected before and after infant feedings for a 24 hour period after eltrombopag dosing to evaluate the eltrombopag concentrations in the breast milk. Mothers will also be given the option to have a pharmacokinetic (PK) blood sample collected from the infant.

This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of arsenic trioxide with or without ascorbic acid in treating patients with myelofibrosis. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as arsenic trioxide, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving arsenic acid together with ascorbic acid may kill more cancer cells.

To evaluate changes in platelet counts and hemodynamics between "rapid" and "long" platelet infusion groups.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate a scoring tool to help determine the presence of Heparin Induced Thrombocytopenia (HIT), which is an adverse reaction to heparin. We hypothesize that this scoring tool will be very useful in excluding patients who are suspected of having HIT.
