Filter by:The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of a perioperative nutrition strategy using oral nutritional supplements (ONS) on postoperative complications and improvement in body weight in malnourished patients who underwent gastrectomy.
Patients with early gastric cancer, who require therapeutic upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, such as endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), will receive intragastric spraying of NPO-11 or placebo. The superiority of NPO-11 to placebo as anti-peristaltic agent will be verified in a randomized, double-blind, parallel-assignment design based on the proportion of patients with suppressed gastric peristalsis during the procedures. The degree of gastric peristalsis is assessed by an independent committee. The safety of NPO-11 will be evaluated based on adverse events and adverse drug reactions (ADRs) observed between administration and seven days after administration in comparison with the placebo group.
The purpose of this research study is to assess what the participant understands about their illness, prognosis, the goals of the cancer treatment and their communication with their oncology providers. This study will help us to figure out how the investigators can improve how other patients understand their illness and goals of treatment and help us improve communication with their doctors. This research is being done because there is not a lot of information on how much patients understand about their illness and prognosis.
Evaluation of safety and efficacy of a standardized mistletoe extract (abnobaVISCUM® Quercus, aVQ) in patients with gastric cancer receiving oral chemotherapy.
This is an open-label, multicentre, prospective phase II trial designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of trastuzumab in combination with capecitabine and oxaliplatin as first-line therapy in patients with recurrent and/or metastatic HER2 positive adenocarcinoma of the stomach or gastro-oesophageal junction.
This open-label, single-arm, multicenter, Phase 2 trial will treat at least 40 participants with advanced gastric adenocarcinoma including adenocarcinoma of the gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) who have not previously received systemic chemotherapy for this setting. All eligible participants will receive the combination of cetuximab plus S-1 (a combination of tegafur, gimeracil, and oteracil) and cisplatin.
The purpose of this study is to see whether giving azacitidine before each cycle of chemotherapy prior to surgery is safe.
Monoclonal antibodies can transport and deliver radioactive elements capable of releasing sufficient amounts of energy to destroy tumor cells. In this clinical trial, we will study alpha particle radio immunotherapy using lead-212 (²¹²Pb), an isotope with a short path length targeted to malignant cells by the trastuzumab antibody, as a potential treatment for metastatic diseases. This Phase I trial is designed to determine the toxicity profile of ²¹²Pb-TCMC-Trastuzumab, its dose-limiting toxicities, and its anti-tumor effects in patients with HER-2 positive intraperitoneal cancers.
Because locally far-advanced gastric cancer combined with adjacent tissue invasion has a poor prognosis, some phase 2 and 3 clinical trials of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) are performed in Japan. However, neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NACRT) achieves superior local tumor control compared with NAC. This feasibility trial explored the feasibility and safety of neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NACRT) in this type of gastric cancer.
The aims of this study are to investigate whether multimodal treatment of peritoneal carcinomatosis from gastric cancer is feasible and to evaluate the clinical outcomes and clinical effectiveness of neoadjuvant systemic chemotherapy followed by cytoreductive surgery + hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy + early postoperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy, as compared to systemic chemotherapy only, in patients with peritoneal carcinomatosis from gastric cancer.
