Osteoporosis is the most prevalent metabolic bone disease. A number of studies investigate the effect of physical therapy modalities in treatment of osteoporosis. The use of pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) represents an attractive alternative for Osteoporosis. Previous studies suggested that pulsed electromagnetic field could be beneficial for increase bone mineral density in osteoporotic patients, but there is a lack of Knowledge about the comparison with pulsed high laser therapy.

Influence of Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields (PEMFs) Stimulation on Physical Exercise in Sedentary People

The pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMF) are a non-invasive therapy used for clinical treatments. Recent publications in exercise physiology showed that PEMF enhanced the velocity and the quantity of available muscle O2, and the rate of muscle oxygen extraction and utilization, in semi-professional cyclists during a heavy constant-load exercise. This study investigates the effect of stimulation on muscular activation in sedentary young people who perform a constant-load exercise at moderate intensity. The protocols foresees the enrollment of nine male sedentary young people. The response of the muscle activity will be recorded by surface electromyography (EMG) and assessed by measuring the root mean square normalized to the peak of the maximum voluntary contraction. Data will be collected in the vastus Medialis (RVM) and Biceps Femoris (RBF) of the right leg, at the baseline (standstill sitting), on warm-up (unloaded cy-cling) and during 30 minutes of constant-load exercise in two experimental conditions (PEMF ON vs PEMF OFF).

Study aim is to test AlgoCare, a device that uses the technology PEMF (Pulsed ElectroMagnetic Fields) for the treatment of postoperative pain in oncological breast surgery, in order to demonstrate that the use of Algocare in the postoperative period allows for a reduction in pain intensity in terms of Numerical Rating Scale (NRS) score and use of analgesic drugs.

Effectiveness of Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy as an Adjunct Modality to Warm-up Exercise: a Randomized Controlled Trial

The goal of this clinical trial is to assess the effectiveness of pulsed electromagnetic field therapy as an adjunct to warm-up exercises, in healthy participants. Researchers will investigate both the immediate effect of one round of pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF) and after a warm-up exercise, on participants' range-of-motion (ROM) at the knee and quadriceps' muscle stiffness, measured through shear wave elastography, an ultrasound technique. This may be useful in future interventions to protect against sports injuries. Participants will have their knee ROM and quadriceps' muscle stiffness measured thrice, once at baseline, once after PEMF/sham treatment, and once after 5 minutes of warm-up stationary bike exercises. Researchers will compare with sham treatment to see if there are any significant effects from PEMF therapy.

Efficacy of Pulsed Electromagnetic Field and Heparin/Bupivacaine Instillations

Investigation of the Effect of Simultaneous Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) and Intravesical Heparin - Bupivacaine Cocktail Instillation for the Symptomatic Treatment of Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder Pain Syndrome (IC/BPS)

The objective of this study is to test the idea that Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy will serve as a safe therapeutic modality that can effectively be administered simultaneously with bladder instillations of a bupivacaine-heparin cocktail to improve the chronic pain and/or associated symptoms of Interstitial Cystitis/Bladder Pain Syndrome (IC/BPS) patients. The study team will distribute the PEMF device to female adults with IC/BPS who have been prescribed bladder instillations of bupivacaine-heparin to see if PEMF therapy in conjunction with bladder instillations of heparin and bupivacaine may be more effective in reducing pain levels and symptomatology of IC/BPS than instillations alone.

Investigation of The Efficiency of Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Treatment and Stretching Exercise In Experimental Skeletal Muscle Injury Model

In this study, a total of 69 Wistar Albino rats were used, five of which were in the preliminary study. The preliminary study was planned to determine the ideal PEMF treatment time. In the study, animals were divided into 5 groups (Control, INJ, INJ+Exercise, INJ+PEMF, INJ+Exercise+PEMF). Experimental animals were sacrificed on the 7th and 14th days to see the effects of the treatments. At the end of the experiment, genetic, histopathological, and immunohistochemical evaluations were made in the muscle tissue.
