A Study of Combinations of D-CIK Immunotherapy And Anti-PD-1 In Refractory Solid Tumors

Background: Combinations of dendritic and cytokine-induced killer cell (D-CIK) based adoptive immunotherapy and anti-PD-1 antibody may enhance the immune response and stop cancer cells from growing. Objective: Phase II clinical trial to investigate the safety, clinical activity and toxicity of combinations of D-CIK and anti-PD-1 antibody in patients with treatment-refractory solid tumors. Methodology: Phase II clinical trial in patients with advanced metastatic hepatocellular carcinoma, renal cell carcinoma,bladder cancer,colorectal cancer,non-small-cell lung cancer,breast cancer and other solid cancers. The D-CIK was isolated from peripheral blood of participants,then activated,expanded and incubated with anti-PD-1 antibody before infusion. The enough number (1.0-1.5 *10^10 cells) of D-CIK were infused back into participants.

Girentuximab is an antibody against Carbonic Anhydrase IX (CAIX), an antigen that is expressed on the cell surface of 95% of clear cell RCC (ccRCC). Zr-89-girentuximab PET/CT (Positron Emission Tomography) may be a valuable imaging technique in the diagnosis of patients with RCC. The aim of the present study is to show the impact of the Zr-89-girentuximab PET/CT on the clinical management of ccRCC patients.

Cabozantinib-S-Malate in Treating Younger Patients With Recurrent, Refractory, or Newly Diagnosed Sarcomas, Wilms Tumor, or Other Rare Tumors

This phase II trial studies how well cabozantinib-s-malate works in treating younger patients with sarcomas, Wilms tumor, or other rare tumors that have come back, do not respond to therapy, or are newly diagnosed. Cabozantinib-s-malate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for tumor growth and tumor blood vessel growth.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of pembrolizumab (MK-3475) in combination with axitinib versus sunitinib monotherapy as a first-line treatment for participants with advanced/metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC). The primary hypotheses of this study are: 1. The combination therapy of pembrolizumab plus axitinib is superior to sunitinib monotherapy with respect to Progression-Free Survival (PFS) as assessed by blinded independent central imaging review per Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors version 1.1 (RECIST 1.1) 2. The combination therapy of pembrolizumab plus axitinib is superior to sunitinib monotherapy with respect to Overall Survival (OS).

Transperitoneal vs Retroperitoneal Laparoscopic or Robotic Partial Nephrectomy

Both laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (LPN) and robotic partial nephrectomy (RPN) can be performed through transperitoneal (TP) or retroperitoneal (RP) approach. RP approach is less utilized than TP approach because of technical difficulties when using rigid laparoscopic instruments in the small space of retroperitoneum cavity. However, with advanced surgical skills and thoughtful patient selection, RP approach may be associated with shorter operative time (OT), less estimated blood loss (EBL), shorter length of hospital stay (LOS) compared with TP approach. Therefore, the investigators performed randomized control trial to compare the outcomes of the two approaches (TP-LPN or RPN vs RP-LPN or RPN).

Study of Nintedanib Plus Bevacizumab in Advanced Solid Tumors

Angiogenesis, the development of new blood vessels, plays an important role in the disease development and tumor growth in many solid organ malignancies. Bevacizumab was the first anti-angiogenic drug to be approved in solid tumors and has shown advantageous activity with multiple tumor types. However, the responses from Bevacizumab are often transient due to the tumor's manipulative abilities to circumvent the usual pathways to find salvage pathways instead. Nintedanib has demonstrated anti-tumor activity in non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer, colorectal cancer, ovarian cancer, and renal cell cancer. The combination of Bevacizumab and Nintedanib are being proposed to target the tumor's manipulation processes to generate alternate pathways for angiogenesis thus creating a potential benefit to delay tumor growth.
