Bupropion for the Prevention of Postpartum Smoking Relapse

This two-arm, double-blind, placebo-controlled randomized clinical trial will enroll pregnant women who quit smoking after learning they were pregnant and are motivated to stay abstinent postpartum. Participants will be randomized to receive extended-release bupropion (active 300mg or placebo once daily beginning 4 to 10 days postpartum to 12 weeks post-randomization). All participants will complete the same data collection procedures (e.g., biological sample collection for hormone and cotinine analysis and completion of validated questionnaires) at baseline (gestational week 36), weekly from 4 to 10 days postpartum through 12 weeks post-randomization and at weeks 12, 24, 36 and 52 post-randomization.

A Study Combining the Peposertib (M3814) Pill With Standard Chemotherapy in Patients With Ovarian Cancer With an Expansion in High Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer and Low Grade Serous Ovarian Cancer

This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of peposertib when given together with pegylated liposomal doxorubicin hydrochloride in treating patients with high or low grade ovarian cancer that has come back after a period of improvement (recurrent). Peposertib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as pegylated liposomal doxorubicin hydrochloride, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving peposertib and pegylated liposomal doxorubicin hydrochloride may work better in treating patients with ovarian cancer compared to pegylated liposomal doxorubicin hydrochloride alone.

Studying how often loss of appetite and/or unintentional weight loss (cachexia) occurs in patients seen in the supportive care clinic may help researchers develop new ways to lower stress in patients who suffer from loss of appetite and weight loss as well as their family caregivers.

Analysis of Patterns of Recurrence in Head and Neck Cancer Using Clinicopathomic Markers

Here, the investigators will develop a clinicopathomic assay from biomarkers obtained from digital pathologies of resected whole-mount oral cavity and oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OCSCC and OPSCC) specimens with the goal of administering personalized novel image-guided therapies immediately after primary surgical management in OCSCC and OPSCC patients. The primary aim is to determine the association between clinicopathomic biomarkers and LRR. The secondary aim is to develop a clinicopathomic risk score (assay) such that a decision-support tool can be used by physicians for measuring the benefit of additional therapies (i.e. conventional chemotherapy +/- radiation or administering dose-escalated chemoradiation) in the adjuvant setting to reduce LRR rates.

Home-based HIIT to Improve CRC Survivorship: Feasibility and Relationship With Novel Surrogate Biomarkers of CRC Recurrence

This 12-week, exercise study will assess the feasibility of a home-based high-intensity interval training (HIIT) program among colorectal cancer survivors and explore the impact of home-based HIIT compared to a standard home-based moderate-intensity continuous aerobic exercise program on physical outcomes linked with survival from colorectal cancer and surrogate blood markers of colorectal cancer recurrence. HIIT is a type of aerobic exercise that includes short bursts (i.e. 1-4 minutes) of vigorous exercise followed by longer periods of moderate to lower intensity exercise (i.e. 1-10 minutes). Participants in this study will be randomly assigned into a personalized home based exercise program - either high-intensity interval training (HIIT) or moderate-intensity continuous aerobic exercise (MICE). This pilot study will provide us with preliminary evidence for a larger trial aimed to compare the effectiveness of these two different types of home-based exercise programs on physical outcomes linked with survival, quality of life, and surrogate blood markers of colorectal cancer recurrence.
