Patients´ Mental and Physical Health After Covid-19 Treated in ICU in Sweden

Covid-19 is a disease where both clinical experience and thus knowledge about the long-term effects of the disease are currently sparse. However, current follow-up results indicate a more pronounced cognitive and respiratory impairment than previously seen in a normal ICU population. As we know that the prevalence of impairments in neurocognitive and Health Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) is increased in a majority of ICU patients, it would be of benefit to gain knowledge about the impact on the recovery trajectory for patients treated for Covid-19, and to increase the understanding of which factors that affect the HRQoL and recovery and in what way these differs between patients treated in ICU for Covid-19 and other causes respectively. This can contribute to better structures for follow-up and possibility to individualisation that better address which patients are in risk for decreased HRQoL and where benefit for the patient, health care and social economic can be achieved.

Effectiveness of Scientific Exercise Approach to Scoliosis in Mild Idiopathic Scoliosis

İdiopathic scoliosis is a three dimensional deformity with lateral deviation and rotation of the spine. In idiopathic scoliosis, scoliosis-specific exercises are utilized as a primary treatment for moderate curves and as a supportive measure alongside bracing for more severe curves. SEAS, which stands for Scientific Exercises Approach to Scoliosis, refers to a treatment approach developed as a scientific exercise methodology for scoliosis. This approach aims to provide scoliosis-specific exercises and techniques to manage and potentially improve the condition. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of SEAS as a conservative treatment approach for mild AIS.

Subjective and Audiological Benefit of BONEBRIDGE (BCI602) With Two Different Fitting Strategies

The Bonebridge (BB) is a partially implantable active transcutaneous bone conduction hearing system manufactured by MED-EL Elektromedizinische Geräte Gesellschaft m.b.H. (MED-EL, Innsbruck, Austria). The BB augments hearing by providing acoustic input to the inner ear via bone conduction. In 2017 Hodgetts & Scollie introduced a new fitting algorithm called DSL-BCD. The DSL-BCD algorithm was developed especially for the characteristics of bone conduction devices (BCD). If there is a benefit on the patient level in hearing outcomes when comparing the application of DSL-BCD in comparison to DSL v5 when using the BB, was not yet investigated. The aim of this clinical study is to show the improvement in audiological performance and subjective satisfaction with the BCI602 and SAMBA 2 audio processor in patients with conductive hearing loss compared to the unaided condition and to evaluate performance differences through application of 2 different fitting algorithms, namely DSL v5 and DSL-BCD.

Mindfulness-Based VR for Family Caregivers of People With Dementia

The goal of this clinical trial is to explore the effectiveness of mindfulness-based VR could enhance depression, sleep quality, and overall quality of life for family caregivers providing care for people with dementia. Participants will be ask to attend the six-week course encompassed various mindfulness practices, including breathing observation, body scanning, mindful yoga, mindful walking, holistic meditation, and non-selective awareness practices. The control group will only be given the mindfulness-based audio files for six weeks.

Patient-Reported Outcome Measures in Cardiac Rehabilitation: Impact on Health Care

Cardiac Rehabilitation (CR) programs are a multidisciplinary process aimed at patient recovery after an acute cardiovascular event or with chronic heart disease, reducing mortality and morbidity, optimising functional capacity and improving quality of life. The aim is to maintain or recover the patient's clinical, physical and psychosocial condition, slowing down or halting the progression of the underlying disease process. It is based on the practice of personalized physical exercise and the adaptation of behaviours towards a healthier lifestyle, ensuring the reduction and control of risk factors. It is considered a cost-effective intervention that is explicitly and formally recommended by the most diverse and important scientific societies. Through the partnership and collaboration between the various health institutions and the academy, the CR program will take place on an outpatient basis, in a supervised manner, starting after risk stratification with a stress test and respective clinical assessment by a cardiologist. The coordinator of the CR program will be a cardiologist, and the entire multidisciplinary team will be responsible for effectiveness and safety, as well as patient assessment and progress.

This is a clinical trial to assess the effect of a neuropsychosocial intervention by means of telecare aimed at children and adolescents aged 7-16 years with neuromuscular diseases. The intervention is carried out in groups of 5 participants and is organised in 12 sessions: 1 session per week of 1h duration. The intervention is aimed at strengthening aspects of social cognition, self-esteem, social skills and aims at a reduction of symptomatology and a general improvement of psychological well-being.

A Multimodal Intervention Program to Improve Sexual Health and Self-perceived Quality of Life in Patients Treated for Cervical Cancer (PROVIDENCE)

The PROVIDENCE Trial aims to explore the improvement of sexual health and self-perceived health related quality of life (measured by Patient Reported Outcome Measures) through a multimodal intervention that includes patient education on healthy habits and the prevention of vaginal dysfunction using vaginal moisturizers and topical estrogens. To achieve this, a randomized design is proposed to assess sexual health and quality of life in patients treated for cervical cancer who undergo this intervention compared to those who receive standard care.

Clinical Outcomes From Treatment and Evaluation of Obstructive Sleep Apnoea in Children With Down Syndrome

The goal of this observational study is to learn about the use of non-invasive ventilation for treatment of obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome in children with Down Syndrome. The main questions it aims to answer are: - What is the impact of non-invasive ventilation on sleep behaviours and quality of life? - What barriers are faced by children and their families in establishing tolerance to non-invasive ventilation? Participants will be asked to complete questionnaires before and after starting treatment. Researchers will compare this data with the results of sleep studies and non-invasive ventilator downloads recorded as part of standard medical care. A sub-group of up to 20 participants will be invited to take part in 45-60 minute interviews exploring expectations, experiences and barriers encountered during non-invasive ventilation therapy.
