Canadian Real World Evidence Study of Brodalumab in Plaque Psoriasis to Understand the Impact on Quality of Life and Work Productivity

CARE
Start date: October 22, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is a phase IV, 12-month observational, prospective, open-label, multi-center study that will be conducted across approximately 50 sites in Canada for an estimated study duration of 32 months. All eligible adult participants who are enrolling into the SILIQ Patient Support Program (PSP) and initiating brodalumab as per routine care may be offered participation in the study. If the participant agrees, their verbal consent and details will be entered into the study platform by the enrolling physician so that the participant can access the electronic informed consent form. Participants who meet the eligibility criteria and provide electronic informed consent will be enrolled in the study. The study observation period will be 12 months (±15 days). Data will be collected on approximately 500 participants across academic and community centers.

Lifestyle Modification in Psoriatic Patients With Fatty Liver

Start date: September 13, 2021
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Several recent reports have shown an increased prevalence of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in those with psoriasis, which may reflect the increased occurrence of metabolic syndrome in this patient population.

Effect of Guselkumab on Cardiovascular Risk Surrogate Markers in Participants With Moderate to Severe Plaque Psoriasis

G-CARE
Start date: November 23, 2021
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of guselkumab on coronary flow reserve (CFR), measured by transthoracic doppler-echocardiography, in participants with moderate-to-severe psoriasis and intermediate cardiovascular risk.

NCT ID: NCT05125458 Completed - Hiv Clinical Trials

Relationships Among Inflammation, Physical and Mental Health in Subjects With Chronic Inflammatory Physical Diseases.

InflaMent
Start date: April 1, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The prevalence of common mental disorders is high in patients with chronic inflammatory physical diseases(e.g., autoimmune or infectious diseases). The traditional explanatory causation model in which physical symptoms and related disability drive mental health problems is now called into question, and evidence has accumulated supporting more complex interactions whereby psychiatric disorders can both result from and contribute to the progression of physical diseases. In the present project, the investigators will focus on comorbidity of depression and anxiety symptoms or syndromes with chronic inflammatory skin diseases (psoriasis, hidradenitis suppurativa and atopic dermatitis) or chronic infectious diseases (chronic HBV and HIV infection). The study is aimed to clarify the mechanisms underlying the high frequency of those comorbidities. It will overcome the main limitations of previous investigations and use innovative statistical tools to model complex interrelationships and causal links among the assessed variables. The identification of key variables driving the causal chain of determinants of poor global health and quality of life may impact treatment outcome and models of care.

NCT ID: NCT05124080 Recruiting - Nail Psoriasis Clinical Trials

An Investigator Initiated Open Label Study Evaluating the Efficacy and Tolerability of Oral Deucravacitinib for the Treatment of Nail Psoriasis

Start date: March 1, 2024
Phase: Early Phase 1
Study type: Interventional

. An open label proof of concept study will be conducted to assess the efficacy and safety of deucravactinib for treatment of nail psoriasis. Twenty adult patients with nail psorasis and skin disease qualifying for a systemic agent per investigator will be treated with deucravacitinib 6 mg daily. Subjects will be assessed for a total of 48 weeks. Psoriasis assessments such as the modified Nail Psoriasis Severity Index will be conducted. Photos will be used to document nail involvement. Descriptive statistical analysis will be conducted at the conclusion of the study.

ProspectIve Cohort psoriASiS fOllow-up (PICASSO)

PICASSO
Start date: October 20, 2021
Phase:
Study type: Observational [Patient Registry]

The main purpose of the PICASSO-project is to facilitate future psoriasis-research in dermatology. This register biobank will enable us to perform research in the field of metabolomics, mRNA-expression, cardiovascular impact and the microbiome. The final aims are patient stratification, better insight in disease-evolution and improved understanding of markers that predispose to severe disease.

Dietary Perceptions and Practices in Chinese Psoriasis Patients

Start date: November 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The influences of diet on psoriasis have been long discussed. As reported in previous publications, a majority of U.S. psoriasis population show high interest in the role of diet on their skin conditions. Given the distinct traditional perceptions and lifestyles in China, the dietary beliefs and behaviors in Chinese psoriasis patients would be very likely to show different patterns. Nevertheless, the information of this large population is still unknown. In this regard, the investigators conduct a questionnaire-based survey, aiming to assess the dietary perceptions and behaviors of Chinese psoriasis patients.
