The Effect of Yoga on the Fitness of Children

This study aims to evaluate the effect of yoga on physical fitness among healthy primary school children using a randomized control design. A total of 52 children, ages 8-13, will be randomly assigned to either the Yoga Group or the Control Group. Participants will be assessed using the EUROFIT Test Battery as the primary outcome measure. The Yoga Group will do 45-minute yoga sessions twice a week for 10 weeks, while the Control Group will not receive any intervention. Outcome assessments will be repeated at the end of the 10-week intervention period.

The Relationship Between Upper Extremity Explosive Power and Trunk Muscles in Volleyball Players

Volleyball is an interval sport involving consecutive aerobic and anaerobic loads. Strength training based on explosive movements can improve performance in the upper extremities. Strength performance has an important place in this sport. Trunk stabilization is defined as 'proximal stability for distal mobility'. Disorder in any segment of the kinetic chain model will affect the quality of movement in the lower and upper segments.The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the morphological features of the transversus abdominis, lumbal multifidus (L4-5), internal external oblique muscles, and the anaerobic power of the upper extremity and shoulder girdle functionThis study was designed as a cross-sectional. They will consist of 30 volleyball players between 14-30 years of age. Muscle morphological features of the participants by ultrasound; explosive strength will be evaluated by Medicine Ball Throw test, functional evaluation will be evaluated by Closed Kinetic Chain Upper Extremity Endurance test.

Skeletal muscle metabolic health is critical for mobility and an underrecognized target of metabolic acidosis in chronic kidney disease. Impaired muscle mitochondrial metabolism underlies poor physical endurance increasing the risk of mobility disability. The proposed project will use precise in vivo tools to study the pathophysiology of poor physical endurance in a clinical trial treating metabolic acidosis among persons living with chronic kidney disease.

Isometric Core Muscle Endurance in Healthy Active and Non-active Working Age Populations

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate a possible correlation between core muscle endurance and participants' age in healthy adult population. Secondary purpose was to identify other dependent variables influencing isometric core muscle endurance (e.g. low back pain, physical activity, gender, body mass index). Methods: 48 (35 females, 13 males) healthy adults (aged 21-66 years) performed 4 isometric core muscle endurance tests- Biering-Sorensen, McGill V-sit, right and left side plank. A correlation between core endurance and age, gender, lower back pain (LBP), physical activity level (PAL), and body mass index (BMI) was calculated.

Assessment of the Acute Effect of Cycling Practice in Lumbar and Thigh Muscles

Introduction: Cycling represents a very important level of practice, being among the most practiced sports in Spain. As in any other sport discipline, its practice is associated with the appearance of overloads and sports injuries. Specifically, the 2 most affected areas are the lumbar and knee areas, with an annual prevalence of 58% and 36%, respectively. There is no clear hypothesis to explain the low back pain associated with the practice of cycling, but several authors agree that it may be due to holding an inverted posture of the rachis and the characteristics associated with this sport: long duration, static posture, high intensities, vibrations generated by the terrain, and so forth. The project proposes to analyze the acute effect of a long-lasting bicycle trip (3 hours) on the muscles involved in low back and knee pain, see, lumbar paravertebral, quadriceps and hamstrings, by means of tensiomyography (TMG). Objectives: the main objective of this study is to evaluate the behavior of the mechanical characteristics of the lower back and thigh muscles, by means of tensiomyography, in amateur cyclists after an acute effort on road and mountain bikes, and to study their possible relationship with low back pain (LBP).
