1. The prevalence of significant and complex obstructive coronary artery disease (CAD) is high in patients who have low extremity artery disease (LEAD). 2. Long-term prognosis of LEAD undergoing percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) remains poor and CAD is an independent predictor of total mortality after PTA. 3. This prospective randomized controlled trial will evaluate the prognostic effects of routine versus selective coronary angiography before PTA for LEAD and elucidate the potential mechanism.

Effects of Message Content on Intention to Quit Smoking

Message framing involves "the presentation of choice alternatives, either in a positive or negative manner" (Huber, Neale, & Northcraft, 1987; p.137). Positively framed health messages contain potential gains of participating/refraining in specific health behaviour. Alternatively, negatively framed health messages contain potential losses of participating/refraining in specific health behaviour (Verlhiac, Chappe, & Meyer, 2011). The primary aim and rationale of this study will be to investigate which type of framing has the greatest effect on intentions to quit smoking in patients with vascular arterial disease. The secondary aim is to investigate what other factors may have an effect on intention to quit and also what factors play a part in a patient's intention to quit smoking.

Clopidogrel besylate (CB) is not differentiated relative to the orignal clopidogrel hydrogen sulfate (CHS) in the pharmacokinetics and in antiplatelet potency in healthy volunteers. In addition,CB exhibits similar pharmacodynamic properties compared to CHS in patients with a history of acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and in patients with ACS undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). However, there is a lack of data on the clinical efficacy and safety of this salt to the original salt in patients with cardiovascular disease. The aim of this study is to investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of CB in relation to that of CHS in patients eligible to receive clopidogrel.
