Filter by:This is an open-label, multicenter, single-arm, feasibility phase 2 trial on safety and efficacy of short-course regimen of intra-operative Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) at the time of fast-track interval debulking surgery (IDS) following neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) for high tumor burden epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC).
The investigators are assessing the incidence of ovarian cancer in premenopausal women who were at moderate risk of malignancy with low CA125.
The study is a prospective, single arm, non-randomized, open label pilot trial, designed to study the safety, toxicity, feasibility and preliminary efficacy of a medical device, the NovoTTF-100L(O) concomitant with weekly paclitaxel in recurrent ovarian carcinoma patients. The device is an experimental, portable, battery operated device for chronic administration of alternating electric fields (termed TTFields or TTF) to the region of the malignant tumor, by means of surface, insulated electrode arrays.
This is a multi-center, single-dose, open-label, randomized, balanced, two-treatment, two-cycle, two-sequence crossover study to assess bioequivalence of test (T) and reference (R) formulations of doxorubicin hydrochloride liposome injection in female patients with ovarian cancer. Each patient will be randomized to one of two treatment sequences (RT or TR) according to a randomization scheme prepared prior to the start of the trial.There will be at least 4-week apart between each single-dose administration. Serial blood samples for determination of free doxorubicin and liposomal encapsulated doxorubicin plasma concentrations for PK analysis will be obtained in each cycle. The 90% confidence intervals on the GMR(geometric mean ratio) of test to reference products of free and liposome encapsulated doxorubicin for PK must be within 80-125% to demonstrate bioequivalence.
This study aims to develop a follow-up telephone-based genetic counselling (FTGC) intervention for women with a BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutation who have received genetic counseling in the past. Typically, when women undergo genetic testing, they receive standard genetic counselling prior to testing in order to fully understand the procedure and associated implications. If a woman's genetic test results are positive for a mutation, cancer prevention options are then discussed with a counsellor. However, in Canada, there is currently no formal follow-up counselling for women with a BRCA mutation to provide ongoing guidance and support about latest risk reduction strategies. Standard care relies on women making contact for any follow-up questions or concerns they may have. As a result, these women might not have the most current information regarding genetic risk assessment and prevention options. Therefore, individuals are being asked to participate in this study to aid research about the efficacy of FTGC in women with a BRCA mutation.
The aim of this prospective registration and translational research study is to evaluate the praevalence of BRCA regarding germline and somatic mutations.
The protocol aims at demonstrating the technical feasibility and safety of doing endomicroscopic imaging (both probe-based confocal laser endomicroscopy (pCLE) and needle-based confocal laser endomicroscopy, nCLE) during colposcopy, hysteroscopy, and surgical procedures (open surgery and laparoscopic robot assisted or not) to examine all pelvic tissues including cervix, uterus, adnexia, peritoneum, normal and pathologic aspect.
This study is performed to compare the diagnostic performance and cost-effectiveness of different diagnostic methods for differentiating benign from malignant adnexal (ovary or Fallopian tube) masses: the Risk of Malignancy Index (RMI) will be compared with a two-step triage test called "simple ultrasound-based rules" supplemented -if necessary- with either subjective assessment by an expert sonographer or Diffusion Weighted - Magnetic Resonance Imaging (DW-MRI). The investigators will test the hypothesis that this two-step triage test will have better diagnostic accuracy than the RMI and therefore will improve the management of women with adnexal masses.
Background: - All cells go through cycles which allow them to divide. In normal cells, checkpoint kinase 1 (Chk1) and checkpoint kinase 2 (Chk2) (CHEK 2 (Chk1/2) stop cell division at various points to allow any damage to deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) to be repaired. - When Chk1/2 are not present, cells stop dividing and eventually die. Chk1/2 Inhibitor (Prexasertib (LY2606368) blocks the Chk1/2 proteins. - Researchers hope that by blocking Chk1/2, it will cause tumor cells to die, thereby shrinking tumors. Objective: - To see if LY2606368 helps shrink tumors in patients with certain breast, ovarian or prostate cancers. Eligibility: - Participants at least 18 years old with breast or ovarian cancer. They must have a mutation in BRCA1 BReast CAncer gene 1 and BRCA2 BReast CAncer gene 2 (BRCA1/2) genes for group 1, high grade serious ovarian cancer without BRCA1/2 mutation for group 2, or triple negative breast cancer without BRCA1/2 mutation for group 3, or prostate cancer with or without BRCA1/2 mutation for group 4. Design: - Participants will be screened with a medical history and physical exam. They will have blood tests, an electrocardiogram (ECG) heart test, scans, and X-rays. They will have a piece of their tumor removed at entry (computed tomography (CT)-assisted biopsy). - Study Day 1: Participants will have a physical exam and blood drawn. They may have a CT scan of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis. - Day 1 and Day 15 of each 28-day cycle: Participants will receive the study drug through an intravenous (IV). - Vital signs will be checked before and after. An ECG will be done within 1 hour after. - Day 15 and Day 28: Participants will have a physical exam, blood drawn, and a 12 lead ECG. - Cycle 1: Participants will have weekly phone calls and blood draws. Participants may have another CT-assisted biopsy at the end of cycle 1. - Cycle 2 and beyond, blood will be drawn every other week for routine blood tests. - Participants will have an after-study visit with a physical exam and blood tests. Participants may have another biopsy when they progressed on treatment. They will have scans of the chest, pelvis, and abdomen and a 12 lead ECG.
This pilot clinical trial studies different types of energy balance interventions to see how well they work in increasing the physical activity levels of breast cancer gene-positive patients, Lynch syndrome-positive patients, chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) survivors or family members of cancer survivors who are at high risk for cancer. Increasing exercise and eating healthy foods may help reduce the risk of cancer. Studying how well different types of interventions work in motivating cancer survivors or high-risk family members to increase exercise and healthy food choices may help doctors plan the most effective motivational program for cancer prevention.
