This is a two strata Phase 1b study to assess the safety and efficacy of bisantrene (RC110) in combination with a) cytarabine arabinoside (Ara-C) treatment for patients with relapsed or refractory (R/R) Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) with extramedullary disease and able to tolerate intensive chemotherapy; b) in combination with decitabine/cedazuridune (ASTX727) new or relapsed or refractory AML or high risk MDS or CMML with extramedullary disease and unable or not willing to have intensive chemotherapy.
History and scientific evidence show that it is critical to maintain public trust and confidence in vaccination. Any crisis in confidence has the potential to cause significant disruption and a detrimental impact on vaccination. Vaccine hesitancy is a complex and context-specific issue that varies across time, place, and vaccines. It has been cited by World Health Organization(WHO) as one of the top ten threats to global health in 2019. Coronavirus disease(COVID-19) pandemic may change public confidence in vaccines. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a surveillance system to monitor vaccine confidence and hesitancy in real time. To date, a growing body of literature has used social media platforms such as Twitter and weico for public health research. Large amounts of real time data posted on social media platforms can be used to quickly identify the public's attitudes on vaccines, as a way to support health communication and health promotion, messaging. However, textual data on social media is difficult to be analyzed. Recent progress in machine learning makes it possible to automatically analyze textual data on social media in real time. In this study, the investigators will establish a social media surveillance and analysis platform on vaccines, develop a series of machine learning models to monitor vaccine confidence and early detect emerging vaccine-related risks, and assess public communication around vaccines. The investigators will assess the temporal and spatial distribution of vaccine confidence and hesitancy globally using Twitter data and in China using weico data, for all vaccines and Human Papilloma Virus(HPV) vaccine, respectively. Our study will guide the design of effective health communication strategies to improve vaccine confidence.
The purpose of this study is to determine if any improvements in depressive symptoms are maintained in the medium and longer-term (up to 3 months)
The purpose of this pilot study is to determine if calcipotriol shows potential to be an effective treatment for Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA). This study aims to evaluate calcipotriol due to the possible anti-inflammatory effects that may affect the hair growth cycle.
This clinical trial investigates the acceptability of electronic cigarettes (JUUL) for smoking cessation (quitting smoking) and the reduction of surgery-related complications in patients with newly diagnosed head, neck, or lung cancer. Smoking before surgery is associated with increased risk of complications during and after surgery. Electronic cigarettes are a type of special product that gives small, steady doses of nicotine to help stop cravings and relieve symptoms that occur when a person is trying to quit smoking. Stopping cigarette smoking before surgery may reduce the risk of complications during and after surgery in patients with head, neck, or lung cancer.
This phase II clinical trial design with a safety run-in period will be used to assess the rate of VGPR or better for the combination PVD-Dara in the treatment of RRMM.
This is a prospective randomized open-label cross-over study. Poor responder patients will undergo two ovarian stimulation cycles. One with recombinant follicle stimulation hormone (FSH), and an other stimulation with recombinant FSH and recombinant luteinizing hormone (LH). In both groups, a freeze-all strategy will be applied and an endometrial biopsy will be taken 7 days after final oocyte maturation trigger. Endometrial gene expression analysis will be performed on both biopsies. After completion of both treatment cycles, a frozen embryo transfer of a single embryo will be performed.
The purpose of this study is to see if Dostarlimab is an effective treatment for Gestational Trophoblastic Neoplasia (GTN).
This phase III trial compares olanzapine to placebo in decreasing nausea and vomiting in patients with cancer that has spread to other places in the body (advanced). Patients with advanced cancer may experience nausea and/or vomiting that is unrelated to chemotherapy or radiation. Giving olanzapine may help reduce nausea and increase appetite in patients who have advanced cancer.
