Filter by:This is an open-label phase 1 safety and feasibility study that will employ multi-tumor antigen specific cytotoxic T lymphocytes (TSA-T) directed against proteogenomically determined personalized tumor-specific antigens (TSA) derived from a patient's primary brain tumor tissues. Young patients with embryonal central nervous system (CNS) malignancies typically are unable to receive irradiation due to significant adverse effects and are treated with intensive chemotherapy followed by autologous stem cell rescue; however, despite intensive therapy, many of these patients relapse. In this study, individualized TSA-T cells will be generated against proteogenomically determined tumor-specific antigens after standard of care treatment in children less than 5 years of age with embryonal brain tumors. Correlative biological studies will measure clinical anti-tumor, immunological and biomarker effects.
This is a non-randomized, multi-center, open-label clinical trial evaluating the efficacy and clinical feasibility of the Profound Matrix device for electrocoagulation and for treatment of wrinkles and acne scars. Subjects will receive up to three (3) treatments with the Matrix Pro applicator or up to five (5) treatments with the Sublime and/or Sublative Radiofrequency (RF) applicators.
As there is no consensus to date on the optimal postoperative nutritional support route for patients undergoing minimally invasive esophagectomy, the purpose of this study is to assess whether there is a potential advantage to receiving jejunostomy feedings for postoperative patients undergoing McKeown MIE as compared to the conventional nasoenteric tube feeding method.
A prospective cohort study of pregnant women undergoing induction of labor at term .inculding- Women with a singleton pregnancy at ≥ 37 weeks' gestation, with a live fetus in cephalic presentation. all women will undergo transvaginal ultrasound assessment before induction of labor admission. Maternal and obstetric characteristics and Bishop score will be recorded. The main outcome is the overall rate of Cesarean delivery after induction of labor.
Treatment clinical trial, randomized, controlled, parallel, double-blinded, with two groups, that aims to evaluate the best application strategy when using a flowable bulk fill composite (Opus Bulk Fill Flow APS, FGM, Brazil) in class II cavities. Volunteers will be selected and recruited, following inclusion criteria and pre-established exclusion criteria. All volunteers will be informed and sign a term of clarification and consent. 38 enrolled patients will receive 76 Class II dental restorations, made in two different ways, one from each experimental group. Authors will perform restorations with an incremental composite (Vittra APS - FGM) associated with a bulk-fill flowable composite (Opus Bulk Fill Flow APS - FGM), in class II cavities, exposing (Group BP) or not (Group IP) the bulk fill flowable composite to the cavosurface angle on the proximal wall of the restorations. In both groups, Opus Bulk Fill Flow APS resin will be used in the bulk technique with up to 5mm depth increments, leaving 1 mm in the occlusal for incremental Vittra APS composite resin. Immediate post-operative tooth sensitivity will be evaluated after one week. Restorations will be evaluated every 6 months for pain assessment, shape, fractures, staining or recurrent caries, using FDI scores. To determine in which group each tooth will be enrolled, the authors will randomize the teeth.
Actual indications for stage Ia NSCLC patients suggest lobectomy and lymphadenectomy. On the other hand, recent studies reported non-inferiority of segmentectomy in case of nodule < 2cm or with ground glass appearance at computed tomography. However, most of these studies did not report specifical analysis on kind of segmentectomy (single or multiple) and kind of lobectomy. Moreover, a specific study on solid nodules only is still missing. For these reasons, the effectiveness of segmentectomy instead lobectomy for every kind of segment or tumor is still to be defined. Aim of this study is to analyze survival outcome in patients underwent single or multiple segmentectomy compared to lobectomy in stage I non small cell lung cancer.
The goal of this observational study is to learn about sensory loss in hospital patients with delirium. The main questions it aims to answer are: - Are hearing and vision loss related to increased risk of having delirium? - Do hearing and vision loss contribute to more severe delirium? - Do sensory loss and/or delirium affect patient satisfaction with hospital care? Participants will be asked to: - answer delirium screening questions, - undergo hearing & vision screenings, and - complete questionnaires about the hospital stay. The second part of this study is a clinical trial. Researchers will compare different hospital units to see if changing communication affects the number of patients with delirium. The main questions it aims to answer are: • Does sharing information about communication and/or providing hearing devices change the number of hospital patients with delirium? Participants in the study will be asked to complete delirium screenings and answer questions about their hearing and communication.
This study explores the potential of an interactive narrative game to enhance medication adherence among stable schizophrenia patients. Employing participatory design methods, game's development and testing process actively involved patients and individuals closely connected to their daily lives. Artificial Intelligence-Generated Content (AIGC) facilitated swift iterations in game's visual style and content. During game therapy, patients are tasked with making decisions based on presented situations, which influence the course of the narrative.
The study consist of children, who have used home ventilatory support during years 2010-2020 in Tampere University Hospital. The study will describe retrospectively different diagnoses and symptoms which will lead to home ventilatory support. We also study compliance to treatment and it's disanvantages. The prospective part of the study describes the quality of live of these children by using questionnaires (PedSQL).
This is a phase II non-randomised and non-comparative study, in pretreated mCRC patients, progressed after at least 2 lines of prior chemotherapy for metastatic disease. Treatment plan: - First Stage: A total of 22 patients will be enrolled in the first stage to detect at least 3 patients free of progression at 16 weeks - Second Stage: If at least 3 patients will be free of progression at 16 weeks, an additional cohort of 11 patients will be enrolled in the second stage
