Filter by:The purpose of this study is to see if a combination of paclitaxel protein bound (also known as nab-paclitaxel), gemcitabine, and cisplatin when given with high dose Ascorbic Acid will be safe and effective in individuals with untreated metastatic pancreatic cancer. Vitamin C is a nutrient found in food and dietary supplements. It protects cells and also plays a key role in making collagen (which provides strength and structure to skin, bones, tissues and tendons). High-dose vitamin C may be given by intravenous (IV) infusion (through a vein into the bloodstream) or orally (taken by mouth). When taken by intravenous infusion, vitamin C can reach much higher levels in the blood than when the same amount is taken by mouth. Some human studies of high-dose IV vitamin C in patients with cancer have shown improved quality of life, as well as improvements in physical, mental, and emotional functions, symptoms of fatigue, nausea and vomiting, pain, and appetite loss. Intravenous high-dose ascorbic acid has caused very few side effects in clinical trials.
Evaluate the safety and tolerability of AMG 553 in adult and adolescent subjects with FLT3-positive R/R AML. Determine the maximum tolerated cell dose (MTCD) or recommended phase 2 cell dose (RP2CD) of AMG 553.
This pilot clinical trial studies how well web-based coping and communication skills intervention works in improving psychological adaptation in patients with gynecological cancer. Web-based intervention, such as coping and communication skills intervention, may help doctors to get a better understanding of ways to help gynecological cancer patients cope with their cancer experience.
The purpose of this study is to test the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of the combination of chemotherapy treatment, which could be either Cisplatin or carboplatin and etoposide, and the research study drug, Pembrolizumab (also known as MK-3475) in patients with high grade neuroendocrine carcinomas of the gastroenteropancreatic system or lung who are chemotherapy naïve. The chemotherapy treatment you receive will be either Cisplatin or carboplatin and etoposide. the participant's doctor will discuss this choice with you and determined which chemotherapy treatment is best for you.
This study will assess the reliability of POC ultrasound in estimating right and left atrium pressures in patients with acute decompensated heart failure. This study will compare hemodynamic measurements obtained from pulmonary artery catheters with those estimated from POC ultrasound using inferior vena cava (IVC) measurements and the presence of atrial septal bulge.
The purpose of this study is to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and/or recommended phase 2 dose (RP2D), safety and toxicity, and pharmacokinetics (PK) of ixazomib administered intravenously in combination with multiagent reinduction chemotherapy in pediatric participants with relapsed/refractory ALL or LLy.
The objective of this study is to determine whether tympanostomy with pressure equalization tube placement or Eustachian tube (ET) dilation is superior at reducing symptoms of patients with ET dysfunction. Given the apparent promise of Eustachian tube dilation and the lack of head to head comparison to the more traditional tympanostomy tube, this study seeks to compare them in a head to head manner in order to assess superiority in regards to ETDQ-7 and tympanogram improvements.
Visible light at 405nm has been shown to be germicidal. The hypothesis is that use of this light (Indigo-Clean Lights) in operating rooms will reduce S. aureus transmission occurring within and between patients and reduce surgical site infections (SSIs). Investigators will evaluate a case-control study where patients undergoing surgery with the lights are matched with patients undergoing surgery without germicidal lights.
This phase I/Ib trial studies the best dose and side effects of trabectedin and venetoclax in treating patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia or small lymphocytic lymphoma that is resistant or intolerant to a BTK inhibitor. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as trabectedin and venetoclax, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading.
This phase II trial studies how well enasidenib works in treating in patients with acute myeloid leukemia with an IDH2 gene mutation that has come back or has not responded to treatment. Enasidenib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. In this study we are investing if enasidenib can be used as maintenance therapy post salvage induction chemotherapy.
