Filter by:The hypothesis is to determine if a preparative regimen of busulfan, cyclophosphamide, and antithymocyte globulin (ATG) plus allogeneic stem cell transplantation will be effective in the treatment of immune deficiencies and histiocytic disorders.
RATIONALE: Dextromethorphan may help relieve fatigue in patients with cancer. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying how well dextromethorphan works in treating patients with fatigue caused by cancer.
RATIONALE: When irradiated lymphocytes from a donor are infused into the patient they may help the patient's immune system kill cancer cells. Monoclonal antibodies, such as rituximab, can block cancer growth in different ways. Some block the ability of cancer cells to grow and spread. Others find cancer cells and help kill them or carry cancer-killing substances to them. Giving irradiated donor lymphocytes together with rituximab may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying the side effects and how well giving irradiated donor lymphocytes together with rituximab works in treating patients with relapsed or refractory lymphoproliferative disease.
In this study we want to examine the effect of a small amount of local anesthetic or saline solution on nerve conduction using a peripheral nerve stimulator.
The purpose of this study is to examine the mood stabilizing and antipsychotic properties of quetiapine in the treatment of depression by comparing subjects who were randomly assigned to either quetiapine monotherapy, quetiapine and citalopram; or haloperidol and citalopram. We hypothesize that quetiapine monotherapy would have similar effects to the combination of a first generation antipsychotic plus an antidepressant for the treatment of a major depressive episode with psychosis.
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and efficacy of risperidone monotherapy in the treatment of psychotic depression. We hypothesize that risperidone is as equally as effective as haloperidol plus sertraline for depression with psychotic features
Phase III study comparing monthly octreotide i.m. in comparison to no additional treatment in patients with proliferative diabetic retinopathy after lasercoagulation.
Peripheral and coronary endothelial dysfunction in type 2 diabetic patients may be influenced by therapeutics. Using Radial flow monitoring and myocardial perfusion magnetic resonance imaging, we designed a controlled randomized double blind study to test the hypothesis that endothelial dysfunction will be reversed following 3 months of Metformin administration vs gliclazide. 30 patients will be included.
Rituximab vs observation after high-dose consolidative first-line chemotherapy (HDC) with autologous stem cell transplantation in poor risk diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
The purpose of this study is to determine whether Campath-1H induction and the associated lymphocyte depletion will permit long-term rejection-free renal allograft survival in the absence of ongoing corticosteroid administration.
