This is a prospective single-center, open-label, randomized, controlled pilot study in the treatment of chronic rejection (CR), defined as grade 1 and 2 BOS, in adult recipients of a pulmonary allograft (single or double lungs).To assess the efficacy and safety of sirolimus plus tacrolimus and prednisone (S) compared to standard therapy (tacrolimus, mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) and prednisone) (ST) for chronic rejection, defined as grades 1 and 2 bronchiolitis obliterans syndrome (BOS); BOS defined as ≥ 20% decline from maximal post-transplant FEV1.

Human convalescent plasma is an option for treatment of COVID-19 and will be available when sufficient numbers of people have recovered. Such persons should have high titer neutralizing immunoglobulin-containing plasma.

Home-based Exercise Rehabilitation With a Novel Digital Biofeedback System for Chronic Low Back Pain

The present study is a a single-center, prospective, non-blind, parallel-group, randomized controlled trial, designed to evaluate the clinical impact of a home-based program using a new digital solution on the treatment of non-specific chronic low back pain (CLBP) in adults versus standard of care. The hypothesis is that all the clinical outcomes measured will significantly improve after the program, and patients using this novel system will attain better outcomes than the ones in the standard of care group. This evidence-based digital program developed by SWORD Health is built on three main pillars - therapeutic exercise, education and cognitive-behavioural therapy, and is specifically tailored to address CLBP. The program will be delivered directly at patient's home, using a biofeedback system and continuous personalised remote clinical monitoring.

Focal Radiation Therapy for the Treatment of Low or Intermediate-Risk Prostate Cancer

This phase II trial studies how well focal radiation therapy with stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) or high-dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy works in treating patients with low or intermediate-risk prostate cancer. Stereotactic body radiation therapy uses special equipment to position a patient and deliver radiation to tumors with high precision. This method may kill tumor cells with fewer doses over a shorter period and cause less damage to normal tissue. Brachytherapy, also known as internal radiation therapy, uses radioactive material placed directly into or near a tumor to kill tumor cells. HDR brachytherapy uses high doses of radiation to target these tumor cells. Giving focal radiation therapy with SBRT or HDR brachytherapy may target dominant tumor cells while sparing the reminder of the prostate or surrounding normal organs and ultimately reduce side effects while maintaining disease control.

Effects of ACC Inhibitor on Lipid and Lipoprotein Metabolism

The purpose of this study is to assess the effects of an investigational drug, PF-05221304 (PF'1304) on the way the liver handles fat. The planned study will identify why the fat in the blood increases at the same time this drug reduces fat in the liver. The study will have two treatment periods of 6 weeks each, separated by a 3 week rest period with no treatment. The subjects will receive the active drug in one of the 6 week treatment periods and a placebo in the other 6 week period. The investigators will know when the subjects are receiving active treatment or placebo, but the subject will not know.
