NCT ID: NCT06022835 Completed - Clinical trials for End Stage Renal Disease on Dialysis

Chlorhexidine Gluconate-gel Dressing for Exit Site Infection in Peritoneal Dialysis

Start date: September 27, 2019
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Exit site infection (ESI) is one of the major predisposing factors to peritoneal dialysis (PD) related peritonitis. Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) has been widely used for cutaneous disinfection for half a century. TegadermTM CHG is a water-proof dressing with gel pads that provide 2% CHG to the skin surface and effectively prevents catheter-related infections for intravascular catheters. However, its use has not been accessed in patients with PD catheters. We aim to evaluate the effectiveness of TegadermTM CHG dressing in preventing ESI in PD patients.

NCT ID: NCT06021366 Completed - Clinical trials for Neovascular Age-related Macular Degeneration

Treatment Patterns With Brolucizumab in Germany - a Retrospective Cohort Study Based on Longitudinal Prescription Data: REALIZE Study

Start date: January 7, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

REALIZE was a single-arm retrospective cohort study which described treatment patterns with brolucizumab, including treatment intervals between anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) injections before and after a switch to brolucizumab. This study was conducted using German patient-level prescription data and the prescription date was used as a proxy for anti-VEGF injection date. The study period was defined from the date of the first available anti-VEGF injection in the dataset to 30 November 2021. The index date for each patient was the date of the first brolucizumab injection, which could be anytime between 01 March 2020 (since brolucizumab became available in Germany for use outside of clinical trials in March 2020) and 30 November 2021. The date of the patient's first neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) diagnosis was assumed to be the date of the first anti-VEGF prescription in the database for that patient, from January 2015 onwards.

NCT ID: NCT06020807 Completed - Clinical trials for Non Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer

Analytical Specificity of Bladder EpiCheck Test in Healthy Population and Urology Patients Without Prior History or Evidence of Bladder Cancer

Start date: September 5, 2019
Phase:
Study type: Observational

This is a prospective study to establish the analytical specificity of Bladder EpiCheck test in urine samples from healthy population and urology patients without prior history or evidence of bladder cancer.

NCT ID: NCT06020781 Completed - Dexmedetomidine Clinical Trials

Efficacy and Safety of Dexmedetomidine to Bupivacaine in Supraclavicular Brachial Plexus Block

Start date: October 9, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The study aims to evaluate the analgesic efficacy and safety of addition of 1µg/kg dexmedetomidine to 20ml bupivacaine compared to 20ml and 30ml bupivacaine without additives in ultrasound-guided supraclavicular brachial plexus block for anesthesia.

NCT ID: NCT06019715 Completed - Clinical trials for Hypertensive Disorder of Pregnancy

Remote Postpartum Intervention Targeting Movement Behaviors After Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy

Start date: June 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The purpose of this study is to test the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of a postpartum physical activity intervention after a pregnancy complicated by a Hypertensive Disorder of Pregnancy. The study will also assess the effects of the remote postpartum intervention on blood pressure. To do this, we will recruit individuals that are 3-6 months postpartum a pregnancy complicated by a hypertensive disorder to participate in a 4-month health coaching intervention aimed to promote physical activity and was informed by formative work done previously.

NCT ID: NCT06019442 Completed - Alcohol Drinking Clinical Trials

An Electronic Brief Alcohol Intervention for Women Attending a Breast Screening Service (Health4Her)

Start date: September 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

Alcohol is a major modifiable risk factor for female breast cancer; yet, awareness of this risk remains surprisingly low and is not systematically addressed in healthcare settings. This study aim to test the effectiveness of a co-designed, automated brief alcohol intervention (Health4Her-Automated) in reducing women's drinking intentions, improving alcohol literacy, and reducing consumption.

NCT ID: NCT06018298 Completed - Mental Disorder Clinical Trials

Evaluation of Excellence in Italy's Residence for Execution of Security Measure

ITAL-EE-REMS
Start date: July 1, 2018
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The model of care for forensic psychiatry in Italy was changed by law (Law 81/2014) so that the six legacy secure forensic hospitals (Judicial Psychiatric Hospitals, OPG) were closed and new secure community residences for the execution of security measures (REMS) were opened in each of the 20 regions of Italy. This transition was in place by 2015. This observational study evaluates the health gains for patients both previously in OPGs and those admitted first to REMS. Health gains assessed include recovery measured by symptoms, function, need for therapeutic security and recovery of legal autonomy.

NCT ID: NCT06017479 Completed - Clinical trials for Urinary Tract Infections

Effectiveness of Single Dose Fosfomycin and Single Dose Levofloxacin as Pre-urodynamic Antibiotic for UTI Prevention

Start date: December 30, 2022
Phase: Phase 1/Phase 2
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this clinical trial is to compare the use of single dose fosfomycin and single dose levofloxacin as pre-urodynamic antibiotic prophylaxis for urinary tract infection prevention post-urodynamic in patients with lower urinary tract symptoms. The main question[s] it aims to answer are: - What is the difference between the effectiveness of administering a single dose of fosfomycin and levofloxacin prior to the procedure in terms of the incidence rate of urinary tract infection (UTI) post-urodynamic examination? - What is the incidence rate of UTI in the administration of single-dose fosfomycin and levofloxacin prior to the procedure on the incidence rate of UTI post-urodynamic examination? Participants fulfilling the inclusion criteria will be taken their history and vital signs and consume either fosfomycin or levofloxacin based on the randomisation prior to urodynamic procedure. Afterwards, participants will undergo urine analysis 4 days post urodynamic to evaluate if there's any urinary tract infection. If there is any bacteria present, the sample will be cultured to identify bacteria found in the urine.

NCT ID: NCT06016595 Completed - Clinical trials for Chronic Prostatitis With Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome

Chronic Prostatitis/Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome Patients

Start date: January 1, 2020
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS) is a common health problem among men and can cause severe quality of life. The pathophysiology of CPPS is still poorly understood and effective treatments are a challenging issue. This study aims to investigate the possible relationship between the presence of microorganisms in the prostatic fluid and symptom severity by presenting a retrospective analysis based on data from CPPS patients.

NCT ID: NCT06016283 Completed - Gender Clinical Trials

The Impact of Gender on Graft Outcomes Following Living Donor Kidney Transplantation

Start date: April 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The impact of donor and recipient gender combination on kidney transplant outcomes has been reported in several studies. The results vary greatly due to different factors, such as minor histocompatibility antigens, nephron overload, sex hormones, etc. Despite advancements in clinical practice, no large-scale studies exploring this question in living donor kidney transplantation have been conducted in the subsequent two decades. Our study aims to address this research gap and provide updated information on outcomes in relation to the gender combination following living donor kidney transplantation.
