Filter by:This work consists, first of all, in making an inventory of the physiotherapy of the patient undergoing cardiac surgery under high flow oxygenation at the CHRU NANCY. Then, in a second step, the impact of the physiotherapy on the lung ultrasound score associated or not with the NIV of the patient under OHD after cardiac surgery will be studied. The objective is therefore to answer the following research question: what is the impact of a physiotherapy session with or without non-invasive ventilation in patients receiving high flow oxygenation after cardiac surgery on the lung ultrasound score measured by ultrasound? Main hypothesis: Physiotherapy is associated with NIV when it is prescribed in patients undergoing high flow oxygenation after cardiac surgery. Secondary hypothesis: Physiotherapy + NIV further improves pulmonary aeration versus physiotherapy + high flow oxygenation.
The present randomized controlled study aims to evaluate the role of transforming nanoparticle dressing n management of chronic venous ulcers.
Despite the efforts made in its treatment, aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage continues to induce high mortality and morbidity rates. Today there are treatment protocols in all hospitals. The vast majority prefer, whenever possible, the endovascular route, given its lesser aggressiveness and morbidity. Although embolization prevents aneurysm' rebleeding, it does remove the subarachnoid blood clot. Therefore, it does not modify the evolution, incidence and severity of vasospasm. The idea is to carry out a 10-year retrospective study classifying patients into five groups based on the type of treatment received, analyzing the results' differences. The aim is to improve what is done as much as possible and to be able to propose potential areas for improvement. Besides, this study will be the basis of a future prospective study, prepared without the current one's biases and errors.
Occurrence of acute right heart failure (ARHF) remains common during pulmonary hypertension (PH). Right atrial pressure (RAP) invasive measurement is the gold standard to diagnose ARHF in order to improve diuretic treatment management. Existence of indirect signs of ARHF on venous Doppler ultrasound waveform has long been described, but correlation with RAP has not been properly established yet. It is the aim of our study in order to obtain an additional tool to manage ARHF.
This study is 8 weeks long and involves subjects taking memantine or placebo. If they are randomly assigned to the memantine arm and are eligible to participate in the study, they will begin by taking 10mg once daily of memantine for two weeks, then 20mg for the remaining six weeks. Efficacy and safety measures will be performed at each visit. Participants will be randomized to receive either memantine or placebo on a 1:1 basis. This blinding will be maintained by the IDS pharmacy at the University of Chicago.
The purpose of this study was to understand whether participants could mount an immune response to SARS-CoV-2 modRNA vaccines administered either during continuous siponimod treatment or during a treatment break versus while on treatment with first-line DMTS or no current MS treatment..
Do no monitor of post-circuit ionized calcium affact the filter life time of continueous renal replacement therapy with regional citrate anticoagulation circuit? A randomized control trial
Introduction: Emotion regulation difficulties have been associated with mental disorders and sexual dysfunctions. Traditional face-to-face transdiagnostic emotion regulation interventions have shown positive results for emotional and personality disorders. Only recently have the effects of these interventions on sexual health started to be investigated. Internet-delivered psychological interventions have several advantages over face-to-face interventions, such as cost-effectiveness, accessibility and suitability for people who experience shame because of their stigmatized problematic behaviors and those who avoid seeking help. The aims of the SHER 2 study are: a) determine the efficacy of an Internet-based emotion regulation intervention for sexual health and sexual satisfaction, and; b) explore the effects of the intervention on (1) emotion regulation skills; (2) mental health; (3) sexual self-perception.
The purpose of the study is to assess the potential therapeutic effect of N-acetylcysteine "NAC" in COVID 19 patients.
Persistent microperfusion alterations after return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) are associated with poor survival. To our knowledge, no human studies evaluating microperfusion during cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with simple and pre-hospital available tests have been published. Capillary refill time (CRT) and skin-mottling-score (SMS) are parameters for microperfusion and evaluated in septic and cardiogenic shock. In animal studies, microperfusion was impaired during cardiac arrest, although not correlating with systemic blood pressure. The aim of this study is to investigate the correlation between impaired microcirculation (as measured with CRT and SMS) during resuscitation and ROSC resp. neurological outcome. Our clinical impression in daily routine is, that the appearance of a patient undergoing CPR is often linked to the outcome. We hypothesize, that this is due to changes in microperfusion of the skin.
