Filter by:Cyanotic congenital cardiac patients require higher hemoglobin concentrations (red blood cell levels) for optimal oxygen delivery to the body. Prophylactic erythropoietin (EPO) and iron can prevent and/or decrease the amount of blood transfusions needed in this population. We seek to investigate if EPO and iron make a clinically significant difference in the number of transfusions given to these patients and the morbidity associated with it.
A Phase II Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Study of Pembrolizumab Maintenance Following First-Line Platinum Based Chemotherapy in Patients with Metastatic Squamous - Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (sNSCLC).
This is a prospective, randomized, single-blinded human clinical trial that will examine how injection pressure influences the spread of a given volume of injectate in the adductor canal, during adductor canal nerve block.
The study's primary objective [in a population of patients with MDS after failure of treatment with azacitidine (AZA) or decitabine (DAC)], is to compare the overall survival (OS) of patients in the rigosertib group vs the Physician's Choice group, in all patients and in a subgroup of patients with IPSS-R very high risk.
The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of the Gambro Prismaflex® HF20 Set based on testing the hypothesis that it delivers sufficient renal replacement therapy to effectively treat acute kidney injury (AKI) in pediatric patients by reducing blood urea nitrogen (BUN).
The study aimed to assess the success of a clinically indicated renal denervation by different tests and correlate the results of the tests with the clinical outcome.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of linaclotide for the treatment of Irritable Bowel syndrome with Constipation (IBS-C), in children age 7-17 years. This study includes up to a 4-week Screening Period, and a 2 to 3-week Pretreatment Period. Patients age 7-11 will receive oral liquid or oral solid capsule and patients 12-17 will receive solid oral capsule formulation. Children ages 7-11 years meeting the entry criteria will be randomized to 1 of 3 doses of linaclotide or placebo for 4 weeks. Children ages 12-17 years meeting the entry criteria will be randomized to 1 of 4 doses of linaclotide or placebo for 4 weeks. This 4-week study will assess the effects of linaclotide on bowel movement frequency, as well as other bowel symptoms of IBS-C.
To assess whether a rivaroxaban-based anticoagulation strategy, following successful TAVR, compared to an antiplatelet-based strategy, is superior in reducing death or first thromboembolic events (DTE). To assess the primary bleeding events (PBE) of the rivaroxaban-based strategy compared to an antiplatelet-based strategy, following TAVR.
There are no studies as yet specifically investigating the application of DRG stimulation in the treatment of chronic pain affecting the upper limbs. The investigators propose to investigate the effect of dorsal root stimulation in patients with chronic hand or upper limb pain.
The curative treatment and organ preservation in advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the oropharynx is multimodal. It involves induction chemotherapy and depending on the response radio-chemotherapy or surgery. The combination of these methods has important functional consequences. The aim of this prospective pilot study is to describe swallowing, speech, but also patients' quality of life before and after therapeutic management (existing studies measuring these functions after treatment but not before).
