The investigators conducted a muti-centres randomized controlled clinical trial to explore the effect of preservation of inferior pulmonary ligment compared with dissection.

NCT ID: NCT06452498 Not yet recruiting - Pre-Eclampsia Clinical Trials

Preeclampsia Intervention Netherlands

PI-NL
Start date: August 2024
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

The goal of this study is to find out if pregnant individuals with preterm preeclampsia (PE) who are treated with metformin can stay pregnant for longer, and if this is safe(r) for the mother and child. Preterm PE affects about 1 in 100 pregnant individuals in the Netherlands. Signs of preterm PE can be high blood pressure and protein in the urine in the second half of pregnancy (but before 32-34 weeks of pregnancy). Other symptoms can develop, such as problems with blood clotting and how well the blood cells, liver, lungs, and brain work. The disease can lead to serious complications for both the mother and child. The only way to cure preterm PE is to make sure the child is born, and many times, children have to be delivered (very) early (before 37 weeks). Children born (very) early can suffer from infections, breathing difficulties, and problems in their development. Metformin is a medicine used to treat high blood sugar during and outside of pregnancy. In a previous study in South Africa, women with preterm PE that used metformin were able to safely remain pregnant for an extra week. Similarly, the main goal of the Preeclampsia Intervention NetherLands (PI-NL) study is to see if patients with preterm PE in the Netherlands that use metformin can remain pregnant for a longer time than patients taking a placebo. A placebo is a look-a-like capsule that contains no active ingredients. Researchers, the treating medical team, and participants will not know which participant gets which treatment. In addition, all participants will receive the standard care that all preterm PE patients get.

NCT ID: NCT06452342 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Venous Thromboembolism

TRanEXamic Acid to Decrease Heavy Menstrual Bleeding in Individuals Anticoagulated for Venous Thromboembolism Pilot Study

T-REX HMB
Start date: June 2024
Phase: Phase 4
Study type: Interventional

T-REX HMB is a pilot randomized controlled trial (RCT) designed to assess the feasibility of a full trial comparing tranexamic acid (TXA) to placebo in decreasing HMB in premenopausal individuals anticoagulated for VTE. Strong data supports TXA as an effective and safe agent at decreasing HMB in the general population, but its use in those with VTE has been limited by a lack of data for its efficacy in anticoagulated individuals and theoretical concerns of its prothrombotic effects.

NCT ID: NCT06452277 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Advanced Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

A Study to Learn More About How Well BAY 2927088 Works and How Safe it is Compared With Standard Treatment, in Participants Who Have Advanced Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC) With Mutations in the Genes of Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2)

SOHO-02
Start date: June 24, 2024
Phase: Phase 3
Study type: Interventional

Researchers are looking for a better way to treat people who have advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with specific genetic changes called human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) mutations. Advanced NSCLC is a group of lung cancers that have spread to nearby tissues or to other parts of the body or that are unlikely to be cured or controlled with currently available treatments. HER2 is a protein that helps cells to grow and divide. A damage (also called mutation) to the building plans (genes) for this protein in cancer cells leads to a production of abnormal HER2 and therefore abnormal cell growth and division. The study treatment, BAY 2927088, is expected to block the mutated HER2 protein which may stop the spread of NSCLC. The main purpose of this study is to learn how well BAY 2927088 works and how safe it is compared with standard treatment, in participants who have advanced NSCLC with specific genetic changes called HER2 mutations. The study participants will receive one of the study treatments: - BAY 2927088 twice every day as a tablet by mouth, or - Standard treatment in cycles of 21 days via infusion ("drip") into the vein. The treatment will continue for as long as participants benefit from it without any severe side effects or until they or their doctor decide to stop the treatment. During the study, the doctors and their study team will: - take imaging scans, including CT, PET, MRI, and X-rays, of different parts of the body to study the spread of cancer - check the overall health of the participants by performing tests such as blood and urine tests, and checking - heart health using an electrocardiogram (ECG) - perform pregnancy tests for women - ask the participants questions about how they are feeling and what adverse events they are having. An adverse event is any medical problem that a participant has during a study. Doctors keep track of all adverse events, irrespective if they think it is related or not to the study treatment.

NCT ID: NCT06452251 Completed - Clinical trials for Vitamin D Deficiency

Vitamin-D Insufficiency and Implants

Start date: January 1, 2022
Phase:
Study type: Observational

Vitamin D is important for bone health, immune function, and inflammation, along with dental implant success. The study aimed to assess bone markers and cytokine levels in patients with and without vitamin D insufficiency to better understand the effects of vitamin D levels on dental implant integration. The study included 42 patients in 2 groups; with insufficient (Group IN-S; n=21) and sufficient (Group S; n=21) levels of vitamin D. Bone remodelling, proinflammatory and antiinflammatory markers were analyzed in bone and peri-implant crevicular fluid (PICF) using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and results were reported as concentration and total amount.

NCT ID: NCT06452212 Not yet recruiting - Clinical trials for Metastatic Hormone-Sensitive Prostate Cancer

Non-Interventional Study to Establish Consensus on Management of Metastatic Hormone-Sensitive Prostate Cancer Patients

Start date: July 31, 2024
Phase:
Study type: Observational

The purpose of this study is to establish an expert consensus recommendations on managing patients with mHSPC in South Korea, and to provide clinicians with a comprehensive guide to support their clinical decision making. There are no secondary objectives for this study.

NCT ID: NCT06452186 Recruiting - Clinical trials for Lower Limb Amputation Below Knee (Injury)

Restoration of Normative Postural Control

Start date: October 1, 2023
Phase: N/A
Study type: Interventional

The objective of this proposal is to investigate the effects of training to use direct electromyographic (dEMG) control of a powered prosthetic ankle on transtibial amputees'. The aimed questions to answer: 1. whether dEMG control will improve balance and postural stability of amputees, 2. whether dEMG control will lead to more natural neuromuscular control and coordination, 3) whether dEMG control will reduce cognitive processes. Participants will go through PT guided training on using dEMG controlled prosthetic ankles and are evaluated for their capability on functional tasks. The results will be compared with a comparison group, which goes through the same training but with their everyday passive prostheses on balance capability, neuromuscular coordination, and cognitive load during locomotion.
