Filter by:This study evaluates the analgesic effect of Omnitram for the treatment of painful diabetic neuropathy. Each subject with diabetic neuropathy will be treated for four weeks with Omnitram and for four weeks with placebo. The order of the Omnitram and placebo treatment will be random.
The most common cause of trigeminal neuralgia is considered to be a neurovascular contact. However, this etiological factor only seem to be present in half of the patient group. Thus the etiology of the other half is unknown. Gain-of function genetic mutations in voltage gated sodium channels have been hypothesized as playing a role in the etiology of trigeminal neuralgia but it has yet to be confirmed. In recent years gain-of-function mutations have been identified as a causative factor in other pain-diseases presenting with trigeminal neuralgia phenotypic similarities.
This study evaluated the safety, tolerance, and pharmacokinetics (PK) of d-methadone in a limited dose range, in multiple administrations in humans.
This study evaluated the safety, tolerance, and pharmacokinetics (PK) of d-methadone in a limited dose range, in single administrations in humans.
The aim of this project is to study the role of transient receptor potential (TRP-) channel V1 (TRPV1+) fibers in the development of cutaneous inflammation induced by epidermal Ultraviolet-B damage. Moreover, in this project the investigators want to evaluate if the capsaicin-desensitization action can still be induced in a skin area pretreated with topical, local anesthetic lidocaine.
This study evaluates the possible beneficial effect of fat grafting for post herpetic neuralgia.
The classical trigeminal neuralgia (CTN) is a common neuropathic pain in clinic by recurrent attacks of chronic sharp pain in the distribution of neuropathy branches of trigeminal neuralgia. With the lack of appropriate drug and surgery, acupuncture played a role in analgesia with its effective and few side effects. The study is designed to observe the therapeutic effect and safety of electroacupuncture (EA) in the treatment of CTN.
This study is designed to investigate the effectiveness and safety of 3D-CT-guided percutaneous radiofrequency thermocoagulation for the treatment of tumor-related trigeminal neuralgia.
The overall goal of this proposed study is to evaluate the underlying mechanisms of neural control of blood flow in the lower extremities in humans with restless leg syndrome (RLS). At least 15% of the general public suffers from RLS and many more may go undiagnosed. This unfortunate disorder leads primarily to a disturbing sensation within the patient's lower extremities that requires movement for relief (1, 2). The central hypothesis of our study is that physiological changes in lower limb blood flow as a result of thoracolumbar epidural Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) lead to the relief of RLS.
There are few studies in the literature regarding increased frequency of neuropathic pain and sleep disturbance and decreased quality of life in Behçet's disease. Frequency of central sensitization was not investigated in patients with Behçet's disease before. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the frequency of central sensitization, neuropathic pain, sleep disorder and quality of life and their relation to each other in Behcet's disease.
