Filter by:This feasibility project aims to evaluate the effectiveness of chiropractic care combined with Tai Chi (TC) training to reduce pain and disability in adults with chronic non-specific neck pain (CNNP).
Neck pain is a common medical condition among office workers all over the world. The purpose of this study was to see if physical exercise, such as basic body awareness, neck-specific training exercises, and ergonomic modifications, could help reduce pain, disability, and job stress while also improving quality of life among office workers. Participants will be assigned at random to either an experimental (exercise therapy and ergonomic modification) or a control group (ergonomic modification).
The purpose of this clinical trial is to compare the effectiveness of kinesio-taping versus self-mobilization applied to the cervical region of long-duration electronic device users.
Chronic non-specific neck pain patients will be enrolled in 3 groups in this study including passive, active control and experimental groups to determine the effect of adding lumbar core stability exercises to patient's advices and cervical and scapular stabilization exercises. For the last two groups, the sessions will be applied 3 times per week for 4 weeks. All the outcomes will be measured after patient's enrollment and at the end of 4 weeks to determine the difference between groups.
The purpose of the study is to determine physical and mental health issues of U.K. embryologists related to their occupational characteristics, and how workplace fatigue and burnout may affect their quality of life, cynicism, interactions with patients, attention to detail, and lead to human error, the cause of the most severe IVF incidents that often make headlines and result in costly litigation. It will also correlate how the current manual workflows contribute to these health issues, and what measures can be taken to improve both working conditions and embryologists' health, and, therefore, improve patient care.
Chronic neck pain is a common problem in our society. With the Neck Disability Index, we can classify the functional status of individuals with chronic neck pain as "no restriction, mildly limited, moderately limited, severely restricted, completely limited". In this study, the difference between cognitive functions, kinesiophobia and neck awareness between those who have a functional status according to the Neck Disability Index and those whose functional status is "slightly limited-moderately restricted" and those who are "severely limited-totally limited" will be investigated with questionnaires and evaluations. The study will provide information about whether there is a difference between individuals with chronic neck pain regarding cognitive functions, kinesiophobia and neck awareness according to their functional status. Thus, it will contribute to the literature to provide clinicians with awareness about the functionality levels in chronic neck pain and to consider individuals within this framework.
Chronic nonspecific neck pain is a common musculoskeletal disorder recognized for its high rates of disability and economic losses, ranking second in musculoskeletal conditions after low back pain. There are several effective physical therapy interventions to treat chronic nonspecific neck pain, such as laser therapy. High-intensity laser therapy (HILT) is a recent treatment proposed to reduce musculoskeletal pain; however, there are few studies that prove its effects in reducing neck pain. The aim of this randomized clinical trial is to evaluate the effect of high-intensity laser therapy on pain intensity in patients with chronic nonspecific neck pain. The research will be carried out in the laboratory of physical agents at the Andrés Bello University, Campus Casona de las Condes. Participants will be employers and volunteer students with non-specific chronic neck pain. Participants will be randomized and allocated into 2 study groups: group 1 (HILT and stretching exercises) and group 2 (simulated HILT and stretching exercises). Treatments will be performed twice a week for 4 weeks with 3 assessments: before treatment, at the end of treatment, and 12 weeks after treatment (follow-up). The main results will be the differences in pain pressure threshold (ΔPPT), intensity of pain at rest (ΔRPI) and intensity of pain on movement (ΔMPI). Secondary outcome measures, on the other hand, will include differences in cervical spine range (ΔCROM) and cervical disability (ΔND).
